The room was extremely loud at night. Traffic and emergency vehicles, people and the room heat woke us up on and off all three nights. 5th floor is too low. Views were nice but we didn’t realize how awful the noise would be. Room heater sounded like a train coming through the room whenever it clicked on.

Hotel Riu Plaza Manhattan Times Square completed the dream trip to NYC during Christmas! The location was optimal. The staff was kind. Service was efficient. Lobby area was beautifully decorated for amazing photos by the front window, and cozy and chill for moments before and after interacting with the busy NYC streets. The hotel room was immaculately clean. The bed was comfy. The shower was refreshing. The staff said, “This is your home in NYC”, and it surely felt like home!

No frills hotel located in Times Square. Pros: Great location, right in Times Square. Inexpensive compared to other hotels nearby. Plenty of food and restaurant options close by. Friendly staff who were helpful. Cons: No coffee maker, refrigerator, or microwave in room. No thermostat in room to control room temperature (we had to open the window to regulate a hot room). Very noisy. Our room was on the second floor facing the street so we heard car horns and sirens 24/7 (it became white noise by the 3rd night). I would recommend this room if you just want a place to lay your head down at night. But if you plan on spending time in the room, it doesn't have enough amenities to make the stay enjoyable.
