"We stayed here for 3 nights while my husband was recuperating from being in hospital. The staff could not have been more helpful (especially as we had to make an amendment to our booking for medical reasons). The hotel was spotlessly clean as was our room. The bed was big and extremely comfortable, as were the pillows (quite rare in hotels from our experience). We ate in the restaurant on one evening and in the bar area on another and both times were very happy with the quality of food and service. Breakfast was plentiful, with lots of food and drink options. Use of the spa facilities were an added bonus."

"The hotel has a very welcoming feel from the moment you arrive. Greeted by the friendly reception team, your requirements and expectations are reviewed carefully. There are no lifts in the hotel so if you are on the 2nd floor you may have to ask for assistance with your luggage. Rooms overlooking the extensive gardens are preferred, as there can be some road noise from rooms at the front of the main building. The rooms are comfortable with the usual basic amenities. Dogs are allowed in the outside cottages and are welcome in the lounge and public bar if they can hold it together! You can eat in either the hotel restaurant or the bar, but the menus are currently a bit restrictive on choice, but the food is good and well served. This hotel is popular for weddings and conferences so can be busy at times, so worth asking when you book to save time and avoid disappointment if you wanted a quiet relaxing stay. There is adequate parking and some of the cottages have dedicated parking areas. The hotel is ideally situated on the main Bath Road giving good access to Westonbirt Arboretum, Highgrove and Tetbury. It can be difficult to get a taxi, so booking in advance is essential. The hotel has a very relaxing atmosphere, and weather permitting there is extensive seating on the garden patio area to enjoy a drink and a meal."
