"All in all, the hotel is great value for money. It's situated really well and our rooms (Resort Tower, Double Queen) were great. The hotel's happy hours were also really cheap for Vegas, as were their $3 Margaritas. The self check-in was also really straight forward.
The only downside at times were some of the staff. Some bartenders were really abrupt and rude, particularly if you were ordering the aforementioned Margaritas. Some refused card when there was clearly a card terminal available, others would pretend to not see you if you didn't leave them a tip, even though their service was rude and abrupt. Others however were really friendly and a credit to the hotel.
The only thing that needs to be communicated is how the hotel takes holds on cards, regardless of what you've already paid. Some of their staff conflated your room price with resort fees, which are actually separated by expedia and by the end of our trip they'd charged over $1500 in pending transactions to my card - this did bounce back as agreed, but seems unnecessary given our final bill was $500.
In spite of some of the negatives, I do actually really recommend this hotel. Vegas is extortionately priced in this day and age, so staying in the Excalibur is as good value-for-money as I've seen, and I've been to Vegas three times in 10 years.
Finally, ensure your credit applied to your room (if applicable) IS credited. The staff left ours off until we questioned it prior to checkout, so you'll save $100 if so"
