The village centre is the heart of Westendorf. Dorfstrasse, the main street, is lined with local shops, traditional restaurants, and pubs. It's a compact and walkable area, making it easy to get around on foot. The main gondola for ski access is also conveniently located just a short stroll from here.

The best times to go to Westendorf are during the winter for skiing and snowboarding, or in the summer for hiking and outdoor activities.

From December to April, Westendorf transforms into a popular winter sports destination. The village is part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, one of Austria's largest interconnected ski areas. You'll find a wide range of slopes suitable for all skill levels, from gentle beginner runs to more challenging descents. The atmosphere is generally festive, with many hotels offering ski-in/ski-out access or shuttle services to the lifts. This period is ideal for families and couples looking for a classic alpine winter holiday with reliable snow conditions.

For those who prefer warmer weather, July and August are excellent for visiting Westendorf. The landscape is lush and green, making it great for hiking, mountain biking, and exploring the Kitzbühel Alps. There are numerous well-marked trails suiting various fitness levels, from leisurely strolls through meadows to more strenuous mountain hikes. Many cable cars operate during the summer, providing easy access to higher elevations and stunning panoramic views. Families will appreciate the fresh air and the abundance of outdoor activities, while couples can enjoy romantic walks and scenic picnics.

Both seasons offer distinct experiences, with winter providing exhilarating ski adventures and summer inviting exploration of the scenic alpine environment.
