"Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Hotel nit appropriately staffed for a busy weekend. The front desk staff had to do valet parking; we had to ask several times to get our room serviced; a dangerous condition in the room because of a malfunction shower curtain tha just dumped water on the floor. Other engineering flubs. We expected a higher level of service and room amenities for the price we paid."

"Traveled from SC. Stayed there for 4 nights we came up for a family member funeral. Not enough handicap parking spaces. Cleanness of the room was not I expected. Durning our stay no one never came in to tidy up the room nor was the waste basket emptied from the room. We had to go and get towels and wash cloths for the room. We are accustomed to staying in places wear as a paying customer our basic needs are met! We did observe a housekeeping cart in the hallway, we express to the young lady at the front desk only thing she ask when we return to the room was, she asked us Sir what room were y'all in? We told her and my husband response was maybe they will clean it tomorrow however tomorrow didn't come!!!!! It was time to leave and the room was neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! cleaned. I Would not ever recommend this establishment to any one!"

The complimentary breakfast, in-room snacks and drinks, outdoor fire pits with rocking chairs, and cozy nights spent by the fireplace with bar service turned our visit into a heartfelt home away from home — far warmer and more inviting than any sterile hotel experience. The outdoor heated pool was simply divine, backed by attentive and friendly service that made every swim a pleasure. Shelter Island offers the perfect backdrop for adventure and relaxation — exploring nearby vineyards to the north, or heading south by ferry to Sag Harbor and the broader Hamptons — all while knowing you can retreat each evening to this quiet, serene haven. A special shoutout to Tony, the bartender, whose genuine warmth and friendliness made us feel so welcome every time we crossed paths. Not to mention, he crafts exquisite cocktails and martinis that truly elevated our evenings."

"The Stannard Inn is an absolute jewel box on the Connecticut shoreline! It is a beautifully decorated coastal chic Captain’s home with thoughtfully appointed guests rooms and public areas. The Innkeepers were so deliberate with the amenities they offered and we could not have been more comfortable or felt more welcome. Will definitely be back again"
