About this property

Railroad-town A-frame above downtown West Jefferson — XL hot tub, sleeps 6

  • Welcome to The West Jefferson Cabin — one of four themed A-frames at High Peak, above downtown West Jefferson, NC. It`s a nod to the railroad town chartered in 1915, with vintage photographs, railroad details and a palette of black, aged brass, cognac leather and brick red. This two-story, three-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin sleeps 6, with a vaulted A-frame living space and a private XL deluxe hot tub on a front porch that faces the town. Jefferson Avenue`s shops, galleries and restaurants are about 0.3 miles downhill (the walk back is uphill). Dog-friendly, with a free EV charger on-site. Coming with a bigger group? The other three A-frames share the same hillside, so up to 22 can stay together.

    • Private XL deluxe hot tub on the front porch, plus porch seating and your own grill
    • First-floor king bedroom with a rear door to a small deck
    • Upstairs: a queen bedroom under the A-frame peak, and a room with two twin beds and a wide window looking toward town
    • Walk-in tile spa shower with a thermostatic rainfall head, handheld wand, six spray modes and an LED temperature display
    • Full kitchen with coffee maker and dishwasher
    • Electric fireplace, Smart TV, washer and dryer, and free 600 Mbps Wi-Fi on its own line
    • Free EV charger on-site
    • Shared grounds with a stone fire pit, a covered pavilion overlooking downtown and Paddy Mountain, a large BBQ, waterfall seating and lighted walking trails

We`re a dog-friendly cabin in a dog-friendly town — one well-behaved pup is welcome to join you. There`s a 75 USD pet fee per stay, added at booking, which covers the extra cleaning that keeps the cabin spotless for the next guests.
    Check-in & Checkout
    – Check-in 4:00 PM, checkout 11:00 AM
    – Self check-in with a smart lock; your door code is sent 2 days before arrival
    – Maximum occupancy 6 guests; registered guests only overnight
    – Quiet hours 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM; no parties or events

    Dog-Friendly Stay
One well-behaved dog is welcome. Pet fee: 75 USD per stay, added to your reservation at booking. It covers the extra cleaning that keeps the cabin spotless for the next guests. Your pup gets bowls, a toy, and a treat on arrival, and there`s a pet waste station outside.

    Hot Tub Etiquette
Please shower before using the hot tub. Lotions, oils, sunscreen, and perfumes upset the water`s balance and make it hard to keep clean and safe. A 50 USD maintenance fee applies only if extra cleaning is needed because of improper use. It is not a booking fee.
    – Shower before using
    – No glass in or around the hot tub
    – Replace the cover after use
    – No solo or intoxicated use
    – Supervise children at all times

    General House Rules
    – No smoking or vaping inside the cabin — 1,000 USD fee. Smoking outdoors is allowed.
    – Use the electric fireplace, outdoor grill, and shared firepit according to posted instructions; never leave the grill or firepit unattended
    – Trash: leave it inside for our cleaner, or place it in the bear-proof trash cans provided outside
    – Promptly report any damages or incidents to your host

    Mountain Living Notes
The cabin sits in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Steep hills, natural stairs, and changing weather are part of the landscape. Wildlife, including black bears and deer, is common. Please don`t feed animals, and secure trash right away. Use outdoor amenities, stairs, and the hot tub at your own risk and according to posted instructions.

A full rental agreement with detailed safety information and liability terms will be provided at booking confirmation.

Winter weather policy (stays January 1 to March 31)
If we decide the drive up isn`t safe because of ice or snow, we`ll message you by noon the day before arrival, or as soon as we know. You can then choose new dates within 12 months with no change fee (paying any difference if the new dates cost more), or a full refund for the nights you can`t use. Only the High Peak team decides whether the drive is unsafe.
If a National Weather Service Winter Storm Warning or Ice Storm Warning covers Ashe County on your arrival day and you`d rather not drive, you can move your stay to open dates within 12 months at no charge. Otherwise, the normal cancellation policy applies.
If you`re already at the cabin, nights snowed in aren`t refunded. If the roads aren`t safe on checkout day, we`ll do our best to get you out, and if you can`t leave, the extra night is free. Storm power outages aren`t refunded, but if a cabin loses heat or water for more than a few hours and we can`t fix it, those nights are refunded.
If state or local authorities order a mandatory evacuation that includes the cabins (any time of year), you`ll get a refund for each night you can`t stay.
Airbnb and VRBO guests: please message us before cancelling anything so we can make sure your date change or refund goes through in full.
The driveway is plowed, but it`s steep and conditions can change fast. All-wheel or four-wheel drive is strongly recommended from January to March, and travel insurance is a good idea for winter trips.
