"Gorgeous flat, quiet, really comfortable, fantastic set up with everything you need in the kitchen, clean, and even a couple of croissants left for breakfast. The bed was comfy, the room was dark and a blackbird very gently woke us up at a reasonable time in the morning. At the end of the road are loads of decent eateries as well as a lovely pub with excellent bar staff. There's on street parking outside, free overnight to 9am, and then £6.50 for 4 hours. "My stay at the Queens Hotel was generally very nice. The overall experience, cleanliness, and hospitality were pleasant, and it provided a comfortable base. However, my only real drawback was during the peak of the hot summer weather. When I kindly asked the front desk if they could help replace or provide a more effective fan for the room, they unfortunately didn't manage to help. The fan provided wasn't up to the job of keeping the room cool during the heatwave, which made it a bit difficult to sleep comfortably. Aside from that one hiccup with room temperature control during hot weather, everything else was good. With a bit more attention to guest comfort during warm spells, this would easily be a 5-star stay."

"The room was adequate, the buffet breakfasts were excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful - my only criticism was the shower in the bathroom was antiquated. Not only was the water pressure extremely weak - the water stopped flowing when the shower spray-head was raised to head height making it impossible to wash your hair, there was no water temperature control - you had to turn on the hot and cold taps separately - but because the water pressure was so poor, the hot tap had to be fully on and if you put the cold tap slightly on to reduce the temperature, the water went stone cold. In the end , we ended up having strip washes at the hand basin. Such a shame as everything else was very good."

"The room was very clean except for the armchair which is in need of a shampoo. Everything else was fine, plenty of tea, coffee etc. My only real concern was that on the morning of check out, someone, presumably a housekeeper, opened my door then left again. I found this worrying because it was well before check out time, I was in the shower and I was a woman alone and defenceless. I thought I had double locked the door but obviously it can still be opened by staff."

"Enjoyable stay at The Cavendish. Tried to get a coffee in the hotel about 1000am because I had a cousin visiting and nothing available, so had to go out and find a place. The bar we visited on the Saturday evening and the guy working there on his own was very nice, pleasant, helpful and efficient. Nice stay."
