"We had an amazing overnight stay at the Annex. Nancy, the host, could not have been more welcoming, informative and helpful. The cottage was ideal for our particular needs - a rather last minute booking - and very clean and well equipped throughout. It was beautifully warm, and the property is set deep in a very beautiful part of lovely Exmoor. Would highly recommend this cosy cottage for a couple and reasonably priced as well. "

"The cottage is a bit tired but well equiped, clean and comfortable. The instructions to find the key were terrible! it says get them from a key safe padlocked to the front railings at the front of the house and they were at the back, attached to the house. Google maps cannot find the address so we followed the instructions given. It mentions a car show room that it is not there anymore (a convenient Tesco instead). The Royal & Fortescue

10/10 Excellent

"Great staff and always a favourite place to stay when in the area"

The Royal Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We spent three nights here in what was a late booking for a break. We were very pleased that we did. The hotel is full of character and the staff all very friendly and accommodating. Our room was big and the bed very comfortable. The food was very good with a good selection continental breakfast available as well as several other choices including English breakfast. The evening menu provided us with good choices too. Parking was available. A small car park for about 12-15 cars opposite the hotel. There was also an "overflow" available which was left at the hotel up the hill. They also had a quiet room on the first floor for relaxation purposes should you felt you needed somewhere else to go other than your room. In conclusion we would have no hesitation at all about staying there again. Lovely."
