Secluded Log Cabin with Waterfalls, Scenic Views, Pond & EV Outlet
This eco-friendly Vermont log cabin offers a peaceful, modern retreat less than half a mile from Mount Snow Resort and directly alongside the Green Mountain National forest. Thoughtfully designed with sustainable materials the cabin blends rustic charm with contemporary comfort. A cold-water stream flows beside the home, creating a soothing natural backdrop that can be enjoyed from the screened porch, where guests can relax to the sound of waterfalls while taking in mountain and foliage views. A long, private driveway, complete with a small pond midway, ensures quiet seclusion, yet provides exceptionally easy access to skiing, hiking, restaurants, and year-round outdoor activities.
Inside, the open-concept layout is perfect for families and groups, featuring three bedrooms and three bathrooms. There is a bathroom on every floor and each bedroom has a window that opens towards the waterfalls. The cabin is equipped with a ducted geothermal heat pump for whole-house heating and cooling, fast fiber internet with mesh WiFi, and an EV charger that provides up to 40 miles of range per hour. Guests can enjoy music throughout the home using the Airplay connected audio system, with speakers in the great room, loft, and kitchen. The fully stocked kitchen includes an induction stove for efficient cooking, and the smart, dimmable lighting system adds a warm and customizable atmosphere. Downstairs, a cozy media room with 60" TV offers access to Netflix and other streaming apps for relaxing nights in.
Outdoor enthusiasts will love the cabin’s direct access to the Valley Trail at the end of the driveway, connecting to the wider Dover and Mount Snow trail networks. This trail is ideal for hiking, biking, dog walking, pickleball, and frisbee golf. Throughout summer and fall, Mount Snow provides scenic chairlift rides, events, and extensive hiking and biking trails, while winter opens up snowshoeing opportunities in the back woods. Ski back to the cabin when conditions allow.
The surrounding area includes additional trailheads, historic homes, the Hermitage Club, and popular destinations such as Somerset Lake, Grout Pond, Bromley, and Stratton, all within the vast Green Mountain National Forest. Wildlife sightings are common thanks to the conserved forest behind the property and the wetlands and river across the road, making the cabin a wonderful spot for nature watching.
Evenings at the cabin are especially peaceful. Guests can gather around the outdoor fire pit, listening to the rushing stream and the chorus of frogs under the stars. With its blend of privacy, modern amenities, sustainability, and direct access to Vermont’s best outdoor experiences, this cabin is the perfect getaway for travelers seeking comfort, nature, and tranquility. We hope you enjoy an unforgettable stay at this Vermont mountain retreat!

This home was perfect for our family (with dog) holiday vacation. Very close to Mount Snow and town. The house was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.
Comfortable beds, excellent stove (nest induction stovetop I’ve ever used), comfortable couches, spacious, great porches, nice tub. Just wish it rained less so we could use the fire pit but it was fun to see the change in the river. I appreciated the book of info about both the house and the area. Was an excellent stay!
Log home is very clean and neat. Great location next to Mt Snow. Local dinning and bars were good and inviting.
Highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
Thank You
Well appointed home, in a private location in the heart of Southern Vermont. We visited there at the end of September, and even if the weather was not cooperating, we manage to have a good, relaxing time. The house was also featuring an EV charging outlet, and we took advantage of that. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting the area.
We stayed over the Fourth of July holiday and had a wonderful, wonderful time. The accommodations were exactly as they Advertised. The rooms were comfortable, well appointed spacious and inviting. This house is a real gem of a place to escape from the rest of the world. The grounds are beautiful. It’s extremely quiet close to everything and just a great place to go and relax. Highly recommend it well return when we can.
We had a short, wonderful stay at Michael’s place. Our GSD could have spent the entire weekend in the waterfalls. The house is clean, the bed comfortable, and the waterfall lulls you to sleep. Down the road is a consignment called Twice Blessed. It was amazing, and so organized! And the general store right down the road from the cabin is very well stocked. We will definitely return , Michaels place is a gem !
We had an absolutely wonderful time at this log cabin! It was exactly as described, sparkling clean, and incredibly comfortable. It is a beautiful property. We loved sitting on the porch, dipping in the waterfall, and just generally relaxing. It is a short drive to wilmington and west dover, and there is an access point to the lovely valley trail right across the street. It was the perfect place for a summer getaway. The host was also very communicative and nice. We hope to come back soon! Do not miss out on this wonderful house!
A good location with access to lots of different activities. We enjoyed visiting Hogback Mountain for its wonderful views and shopping in the very walkable downtown Wilmington. Mount Stratton and Bromley Mountains were easy drives and offered some fun summer activities including a gondola ride and alpine slide. We had fun hiking and swimming around Pike Falls and especially enjoyed the on-site waterfalls/spring hole for our very own Scandinavian spa experience. The house was comfortable and clean with a great porch. Napping on the hammock was relaxing snd the star viewing was incredible. This house was a great find!
We had an excellent stay here! Four adults and two infants fit comfortably, with plenty of room to spare. The property is rustic and cozy, set on a beautiful property. This house is FULLY STOCKED! Everything we thought we would need was already there, including outdoor lanterns and spices. No detail was overlooked. We took full advantage of the outdoor grill and fireplace -- we had a beautiful view of the night sky. The babies loved the creek pool. With Mount Snow right next door, there are plenty of activities, and we enjoyed local hiking trails (less than a 10-minute drive away). Michael was an excellent communicator, and we would love to stay again during the winter season.
Clean and cozy; GREAT porch! Responsive and helpful owner.
Overall definitely well appointed and comfortable house, with excellent kitchen, rooms, wifi nicely set back off main road with wonderful privacy and nearby trails. I loved sitting on the porch playing my guitar! Certainly a lovely, well made and supplied house for rental I would have no reservations recommending. That stipulated, being ~ 6'4" the upstairs bedrooms went to our somewhat shorter friends; it would have been terribly uncomfortable for me. There is no automatic dishwasher. There is a basement that could be used for sleeping another couple but note that was also the "TV room." Bottom line highly recommend, but perhaps best for two adult couples although certainly small children could easily be added to that number as there were bunk-beds upstairs.
My family and I really enjoyed this quiet and private home in West Dover, VT. The house was extremely clean, which gave us peace of mind. The waterfalls were beautiful and provided a tranquil soundtrack for our stay. Though we did get a lot of rain during our week here, it gave us an excuse to just relax and do nothing. And this house made that pretty easy. It took us awhile to get use to how easily sound travels in the house, but other than that, it was a fairly flawless week. The only other thing that bummed us out was we hardly saw any wildlife, just a few birds here and there. The store around the corner (one minute by car) was quite convenient. We took a quick trip to see the Robert Frost Stone House Museum in Bennington, which made for an easy, enjoyable trip to get out and about. We really appreciated how spacious the house was - there were three of us and we each had our own floor and bathrooms! We were definitely rejuvenated after our stay, and Michael was great to work with.
Wow on everything! Even the driveway is fun! Location is great. Fine dining, well stocked beer/wine market/deli, family food/arcade/bar, and a bunch of other stuff all within a mile or two. The big reservoir is 10-15 minutes away, parking was easy, wish I brought my 6 man raft, very accessible landing there. Jet skis & boats rentable. Creek near the house is gorgeous little waterfall after another. My 3 boys (9-13) and I hiked alongside it up to Mt. snow ski resort. Bugs not an issue in August. Good time! My wife liked dunking herself in the creek. Very friendly Vermonters everywhere. The house is amazing. Off the grid and on the ball. Kitchen is stocked, induction oven rocks, 3 floor audio system, nice laundry, claw foot tub, 3 baths/bedrooms. Screen porch has the view, grill fires up…I could go on. Will likely come back!
A Perfect Vermont Escape - Magical First Experience!
As Florida natives experiencing Vermont for the first time, this cabin exceeded all our expectations during our Thanksgiving week stay. The moment we arrived, we knew we had found something special. The cabin strikes a perfect balance - while you feel completely immersed in nature, you're still conveniently close to town for any necessities.
The interior is thoughtfully decorated, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere that enhanced our Vermont experience. We took full advantage of the surrounding nature, going on hiking adventures and trying snow shoeing for the first time - activities that were easily accessible from our doorstep.
The location is simply ideal. Whether you're looking to explore the wilderness or want to experience local Vermont charm in nearby towns, everything is within reach. As first-time visitors to Vermont, we couldn't have chosen a better home base for our adventures.
What truly sets this cabin apart is how it creates an environment where you can fully disconnect and embrace the natural beauty of Vermont while still enjoying all the comforts of home. Even after returning to Florida, we can't stop thinking about our stay and are already dreaming of when we can return.
For anyone considering a Vermont getaway, I cannot recommend this cabin highly enough. It provided the perfect setting for our family to create unforgettable memories and experience the magic of Vermont for the first time.
Very spacious divided into 3 floors. Kitchen was open and had all the basic essentials (coffee, spices, etc.). Lovely balconies all around and right next to the mountain (there’s ski off access but we didn’t have enough snow to risk it through the trees.) lots of space and hiking, a beautiful bridge / waterfall. Highly recommended if your skiing mount snow or anywhere near.
Oh my goodness, we had the most magical stay at this beautiful and intentional home. We loved learning about the history of the house and exploring all there is to experience around the property. We created such wonderful memories with our family and we will be sure to come back again!!
We loved this property for a quiet family getaway. Best cabin I’ve ever stayed at, very nice finishes and eco-friendliness. The Wilmington antique market, and Vermont Distillers lookout were nearby highlights.
Cabin was great. Host was great and communicative. We showed up for prime leaf peeping season during a drought. It then proceeded to rain every day we were there. We were able to get a few short wet hikes in in the areas close to the cabin. Cabin had everything we needed for a quiet getaway. Local towns were quant and supplied us with great eats. Would stay again.
The cabin was actually bigger than we really needed for two people and two dogs, but that wasn't a problem at all. It was probably the cleanest cabin we have ever stayed at. If you want secluded, this cabin is your thing. Very close to the Valley View walking Trail and restaurants in West Dover. If it had been warmer weather, I would have opened the windows to hear the waterfall at night. My only problem was that as a 6'3" guy, I hit my head on the beam in the top floor bathroom, but I had two other bathrooms to use instead, so a non-issue.
It may technically be a long cabin but it is a lovely house. Clean, roomy, open, well-equipped. We are a close family and now that my children are grown we don't often have time to just hang out. This was our chance. We cooked meals and listened to playlists over the house sound system. We sat outside and listened to the wind and the waterfall. Went for hikes. As I mentioned, our kids are grown but my wife and I agreed they would've loved the place even when they were younger.
