This place is AWESOME!! I was there 30 min and spotted a Golden Eagles nest 30 yds from the house!! Mom, Dad and youngins!! Deer splashing around in the river in early mornings! Secluded and surrounded by any kind of nature you can think of!! Everywhere you look you will find something else!! About 15 miles from Manistee, so if something is needed in town, not far away! WE WILL BE BACK!!

Short walk on a long pier
The place was wonderful, well decorated and equipped. Many places expect you to bring just about everything and I came equipped with several unnecessary items. It was in a perfect location. Yes, it has AC. But not enough to cool the bedrooms. It has a boat dock. But getting down to the river is involves a very long stairway too many steps for most senior citizens. I was hoping to float down the river and use the dock as a landing area. But we worked it out and had a good time using public launch sites. I will consider coming back. I realize that no place is perfect for everyone. The positive features far outweigh the few negatives mentioned.
This was a last hoo-ra for a close friend before his marriage, and first off. I can't express how relaxing and fun this weekend was. It's months later and we are still talking about this cabin daily. Great peir for fishing, great movie collection for nostalgia (took us a minute to remember how VHS players worked lol, next time I will bring some of my own VHS as donation), fantastic sleeping arrangements, and best of all, a very private peir to fish or relax on.
-extremely remote, but close enough to a dollar generl and gas station.
-VERY good phone signal(this surprised the whole group)
-Easy water access
-Tons of options for cooking methods(Fire/charcoal/propane/stove)
-Tons of sleeping space
-Very, very well kept cabin
overall, 10/10. We all constantly talk about coming back soon.
The house was fairly clean. There were turkeys, deer and eagles within feet from the house. The beds were comfortable and utensils were good for making breakfast and dinner. Since there was no Wi-Fi it made the trip worthwhile as there was no emails coming through to peat us while relaxing.
We had a wonderful time. Even caught a few smallmouths right off the dock. Very clean and accommodating. Quite a few stairs down to the dock (around 76) and a steep drop off as this is property is located on a bluff. However that did not deter us from having fun around the property. Wanted to make mention of that for anyone with children. Thanks again!
Arrival while the sun is up is recommended as GPS signal wasn’t good to find the property but once we got there.. we didn’t want to leave. When I opened the curtains in the living room in the morning I knew that the recharge I was hoping for would be achieved. Just sat there in the mornings and drank my iced coffee 😀 everyone loved it and we hope to come back soon
