This is a very nice and well maintained property. It is especially good for disconnecting from normal life and resetting.

Beautiful House with Amazing Views

This is our third time staying at Sky High Chalet. My family and I look forward to staying at this clean, comfortable and beautiful house, every year. We never get tired of the amazing views. The property is private and seems like it is remote, yet the house is located just a couple of miles from Wellsboro. Christina is a wonderful host and very responsive to her guest’s needs. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing place to stay with amazing views and stunning sunsets, look no further.

Great stay

We enjoyed our time here! Clean and comfortable, beautiful views. Perfect location- close to town but very private/secluded. We loved the hot tub! Host was very responsive when we had a problem witht the internet/wifi and promptly got it fixed for us. Would love to stay here again.

Amazing View!

Everything was great. Amazing view. We had a lot of cloud cover when we were there. But I can only imagine the sky on a clear night. We did have a magnificent sunset on one of the clearer evenings.

Sky High Chalet

Been going to Wellsboro area for 50 years and this has to be one of the best places to stay. Beautiful place with plenty of space for everyone. The views are great.

Another Great Visit

Our group has been renting Sky High Chalet for 5 years and enjoy everything. Location close to Wellsboro to visit our favorite restaurants and shops. Communicating with the owner is always a pleasure. The owner has maintain and improved the property over the years. We will be back next year.

Perfect get-away!

This house was the most wonderful place to gather and relax, take in the beautiful views of the surrounding area, and had all the amenities you could want. There was generous space to hang out during a rainy day and play games, and plenty of living space on the deck. We had a great time!

Family stay for nearby wedding

Great layout for our group. Indoor Stairs are steep. No handrail on stairs going to loft. Beautiful property. Deck is amazing with great views of sunset

Fantastic house close to town with beautiful views

We loved this house. It was perfect for our getaway. It was close to town and some fantastic hiking and biking in the gorge. The house was beautifully decorated and had all the comforts of home. If you get the chance, don't miss the opportunity to rent this home, you won't be dissappointed!

Sibling Get-Away

Very well kept and laid out. Love having three bedroom - bathroom combinations. Had a great hike at the PA Grand Canyon. Driveway is a pulse-pounding, killer cardio way to conclude a run of several miles (completed two days in a row) -- and now I don't need an EKG. The Downtown Diner was worth the wait (20 minutes).

So much outdoor fun with family

We had nine people overall with plenty of room to spare. Everything we needed was there. Including extra bathrooms for teenage kids. A lot of gameplaying and a lot of privacy. I do highly recommend it. We already decided we're going to try and come back next year.

A perfect stay at the Chalet

We spent a wonderful 10 days at the Sky High Chalet. While some ‘glamour’ shots paint a rosier picture of the setting and condition of a property, that is not the case with the chalet. It is a beautiful, well-maintained home set on a pristine, 10 acre property. The panoramic views of surrounding mountains and various wildlife (a black bear family, many deer, wild turkeys, rabbits and birds) from the great room and deck are also part of the package! Christine was a great host who responded immediately to our communications prior to the trip, and was very attentive to all of our needs during the stay. We will definitely be back in the future!

Spectacular Experience

Such an amazing experience. My family (no children) had come to Wellsboro for the Dickens Day celebration. The owner had been very communicative in advance. We were quite literally breathtaken at first sight of the house. It is beautiful, beautifully situated, and was made more enchanting by the glow of a stunning Christmas tree lit in the main living room. Everything in the home was beautifully updated, full kitchen of stainless appliances, and appointed with tasteful, rustic touches throughout. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were spotless, and everything you could need or want in a vacation home was provided. Check-in and check-out went very smoothly. We could not recommend the property more.

Awesome…but…

Mostly clean with awesome views and amenities. Two issues however. First: there is no handrail for the loft steps. Second: The stains on the light beige carpeting in the main living room are very off-putting and unsightly. They are a daily reminder that lots of folks have stayed here over the years that may not have been as conscientious as they should have been. I would tear it up and replace with vinyl flooring as soon as possible.

Snowy weekend away

We spent 3 nights here. It was lovely and we would absolutely return! The house is very secluded on a huge piece of property. The set-up is convenient for a very large family or 3 separate parties to stay. The kitchen was conveniently stocked with everything we needed to cook (even a blender and crockpot). It has 2 separate living spaces with nice smart TVs. The hot tub was such a plus. With no one around our family enjoyed evening dips after hiking. I would advise bringing robes to wear between the house and tub during the coldest days. The view from the family room and hot tub can’t be beat. It’s about a 10 minute drive to lots of restaurants and about 25 minutes to the Leonard Harrison state park. The trails with the overlooks at both PA Grand Canyon state parks are worth the hike. The owner was quick to respond to inquiries. We want to come back to see the canyon in the spring and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here if it’s free when we return.

Mid week getaway

We arrived around 3:30 a half hour earlier than the 4:00 check-in. The setting is absolutely wonderful. You enter off the main road leading into Wellsboro and turn onto a maintained dirt/gravel lane that takes you uphill into the property. We had no problem with the instructions on how to access the front door. The stairs to the main living room, kitchen and first floor bedroom are a little steep and the stairs are not very wide. The home was clean and ready for our arrival. The kitchen which is a little dated is right at the top of the stairs and has plenty of room for meal preparations. The appliances were fairly new and all in working condition. There was comfortable seating for the six of us at the dinner table. The bedrooms were clean and the beds are very comfortable. Each bedroom has its own thermostatically controlled air conditioning unit in the room which worked very well but are a little noisy when running. The televisions worked very well but there should be an instruction sheet listing what streaming/cable services are available as well as operating instructions. The outside deck and scenery is amazing. Very quiet setting and nice property.

House and the view are just gorgeous3 suggestionsMore silverware for 10 people. We had to eat in shiftsUmbrella for outside deck. Deck extremely slippery in the morning. 3 people slipped and fell coming out of door onto deck, maybe put up a signto be very careful when the deck is wet
