Located at the beginning of the Pa. Grand Canyon, this property has fantastic views of Pine Creek & the scenic mountains in all directions. Secluded yet only 15 minutes from scenic Wellsboro, PA, voted one of the prettiest main streets in the USA! Golfer 12 miles to Tyoga Country Club one of the most beautiful & challenging courses you will ever see. 5 minutes to excellent restaurants. This large, open floor plan "lodge" has many rooms. Main room has an 18' vaulted ceiling with loft above, a fully accessorized kitchen, 3 fireplaces, & a large deck.. This home boasts 4 (5 if you count the loft) bedrooms, all very spacious. House sits just above the snowmobile trail that’s maintained by the snowmobile club. Cabin has WiFi with no cable provided. Property sits on 5 acres WINTER MONTHS our driveway is around .2-.3 miles back into the cabin during the winter Months the road will be maintained but be advised that Road maintenance might take time to get plowed four wheel drive will be preferred!!! Also if you plan to bringing large snow mobile trailers theres limited area to turn around when we have snow please consider alternative location to park your trailers. Or please contact me prior to

Weekend Retreat

We had a lovely, relaxing long weekend away. The cabin was very spacious, clean, and secluded, just as described. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was very clean and comfortable. We had deer in the yard several times and watched eagles along the creek. There is a snowmobile trail between the house and the creek which we walked everyday and saw deer and a fox. It's very close to the Grand Canyon and the two state parks on either side. Wellsboro is also very close and we enjoyed a good meal at the Wellsboro House. Very good communication with Shawn.

Spacious Cabin

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin! The cabin was spacious and worked well for our family with young adult children and their spouses. The location is beautiful and close to the rail trail for biking and Pine Creek access for kayaking. We would stay here again!

Beautiful cabin

This was our second stay at the cabin since we loved it so much the first time. Love the peace and quiet. Cabin is spacious with great views all around. Plenty of room for six adults with nice big beds in every room. Enjoyed the fire pit at night and even got to see some northern lights! Nice and secluded but great breakfast spot and bar nearby. Would definitely stay again!

Awesome Cabin

Cabin was peaceful, roomy clean and quiet. Saw tons of deer and an eagle! Enjoyed the fire pit. Great view out of every window. Took lots of day trips from this perfect location and enjoyed the local bars/restaurants right near by.

Pine Creek Lodge Stay

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The cabin was beautiful and extremely well maintained. The location was absolutely awesome. The communication with the owner was flawless. Just a terrific place to stay. Would give it a 10 out of 10 in all aspects. Can’t wait to visit again.

Off the Road

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Gaines. The house was big which was nice. The water pressure was a little low but it's on a well. Lots of wildlife and close hiking in the GC. All in all a great trip!

Never disappoints

This was our third time staying at Shawn’s cabin and once again everything was perfect. Shawn is great to deal with. The property is very peaceful. The cabin is well stocked with everything you need. We will definitely be back!

Another great stay

3rd visit here and went just as well as the past! Super clean, comfortable beds, all the amenities to keep kids corralled in the winter if not outside. Owner responsive and accommodating! We’ll be back next year! :)

Peaceful Property

We had an amazing time. The home was clean. The beds were comfy. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The creek behind the home has a great swimming hole which was wonderful because it was very hot when we stayed. The fishing in the creek was also wonderful! Shawn was incredibly helpful and always responded quickly. The property was secluded and quiet. The back deck is perfect for a peaceful cup of coffee in the morning. Thank you so much Shawn!

Awesome Cabin + Location

We celebrated my moms 74th birthday & everyone had a great time. Even though it rained the entire weekend we still managed to hike a little bit at the grand canyon scenic overlook. Also the Log Cabin Inn is minutes away & was very good. The cabin is clean & comfortable. I'd struggle to find anything negative to say about it. We have stayed at multiple mountain cabins the last several years & this one is easily at the top of the list as an easy 5 star across the board rating. Rustic and Secluded

The home was very spacious for 8 adults to spread out. The kitchen was very well equipped. The bedroom situation was excellent for 4 couples. We enjoyed playing board games at the large dining table and gathering around the fire pit. Hubby found a place to fish with the help of the host who directed us to the stream access. Secluded location with a long driveway which was in good condition. A few cobwebs but since we are not picky and enjoy rustic accommodations, it was no big deal. Overall, a great house!

Very Nice Home and Location

We enjoyed our stay at the 'cabin'. It was a good location for us. We rode our bikes several days on the Pine Creek Rail Trail and hiked another day to an awesome lookout of the valley floor below. We went into the town of Wellsboro for a bite to eat one night which was about 16 minutes away. The 'cabin' was spacious and well equipped. The furniture was comfortable. Great communication with Shawn. I would have liked towel bars in the downstairs bathroom, a grill brush and some better nonstick fry pans. Those are all minor things and did not impact our stay. Thank You again Shawn for opening up your 'cabin' to our family.

Photos don’t do it justice

Shawn’s house, with deck overlooking Pine Creek, was a comfortable and perfectly located spot for our first foray into the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. The air conditioning kept the house comfortable during the heat wave, the kitchen was a joy to use, and the deck was a great place to greet the morning and hang out in the afternoon. It’s very private location was great for “getting away from it all”. One negative aspect was easily managed: the tap water (from a well??) smelled like sulphur. Our solution was buying spring water for drinking & for making coffee. Given that the house was well appointed, I was surprised that the bath towels and linens were so “tired”. But that won’t keep me from visiting again. Thanks, Shawn!

This was our third time staying because we love this place so much. House has everything we need with plenty of room, great views and quiet location. Hiked on the trail right out the back door and enjoyed the view of pine creek. Saw deer, an eagle and an osprey. Secluded but not far from great breakfast spot, good bars and shopping. Can’t wait to be back again!

Shawn’s place is exactly as advertised and it’s pretty awesome there. It was secluded, peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. We were able to see the Milky Way and its in close proximity to the West rim trail, and numerous other trails.
