Anklam
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (33 reviews)
"We stayed one night at the Hotel Pommernland having flown in to the nearby Anklam airfield. As it was the Ascention weekend there were no taxis available so the hotel manager Eric kindly gave us a lift into town to a greek restaurant. Hotel was clean and tidy and the rooms were absolutely fine. My only criticism is that there was only 1 feather pillow supplied which was way too soft, my head sunk straight through it. Breakfast was OK."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Wegezin?
The best area to stay in Wegezin is directly within the village centre, particularly around the main street, Dorfstraße.

This central area offers a pleasant, rural setting with a few local guesthouses and holiday rentals. It's the hub of the small village, providing easy access to the local church and the surrounding natural landscapes. Visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere and the opportunity to experience tranquil village life.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find the village centre ideal. It's a wonderful base for enjoying long walks in the countryside, exploring the nearby forests, and simply unwinding away from the hustle and bustle.
When is the best time to go to Wegezin?
The best time to visit Wegezin is during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn, specifically May through September.

During these months, the weather is generally pleasant, with comfortable temperatures ideal for outdoor activities like exploring the Mecklenburg Lake District, cycling along scenic routes, or simply enjoying the peaceful countryside. You'll find the landscape at its most inviting, with lush greenery and blooming flowers.

For those keen on water-based activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, or swimming in the numerous lakes, July and August offer the warmest water temperatures and the most sunshine. This period is also great for enjoying al fresco dining and local festivals that often take place in the region.

If you prefer slightly cooler weather and fewer crowds, late May to June or September are excellent choices. The scenery is still beautiful, and you can experience the tranquility of the area without the peak season bustle.
