"Nice comfy bed in a big room. There was a fan supplied (a necessity during the heatwave especially during the night).
Staff were always polite and helpful.
Breakfast was different every day ( I think it depended on who cooked it) but was nice - it’s just a pity ham and cheese and different fruit were not offered but as I said breakfast was nice."

"Fantastic cosy room. Lovely shower , comfy bed. The check in is via phone and a key safe .
The room was well stocked and very clean. Main problem is the doors to rooms don’t have quiet closing so when the ignorant other guests go in and out there is constant slamming of doors.
We stayed in the room with exposed beams and it was very well thought out . Good for walking holiday due to location."

"I enjoy a hotel that makes you feel like the location… not some generic place that looks the same in every location. The Porterhouse was great in that regard, made me feel like I was in Oxford. Clean and comfy room and great location. Staff was great and helpful in every way! Breakfast was nice. I would definitely stay again!"

"Great hotel especially for the price, having a pool to use was great! Plenty of parking available too.
Good to note, there is no air con in standard rooms, I knew this when booking and it wasn’t an issue at all. it was the middle of a heatwave and the room was a bit warm but it’s unusual weather for the UK so I suspect during normal weather it would be absolutely fine."
"I stayed while the hotel was undergoing renovation (the restaurant). It was nevertheless quiet, I had an excellent salad and delicious breads with room service, the staff was very warm and friendly and went out of their ways to help. They even allowed me to check in hours early! The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning very strong (could be adjusted in the room exactly to my liking) while it was very hot outside in July. Excellent! Highly recommend the lovely Castle Hotel and will stay again. Thank you!"
"On arrival we noticed the bin in the room had not been emptied. There was only two tea bags and three milk sachets. Everything else was quite good. Plenty of room and a comfortable bed."
"The hotel has very good and comfortable amenities.
Unfortunately our aircon was broken but they have left a fan in the room, quite inconvenient in the heatwave but good service.
Very lovely place to stay."
"Staff excellent and so helpful. They provided a stress free experience as i was travelling alone with my grandson. Excellent value for money and in a perfect spot for visiting Windsor Castle. Fabulous air conditioning which was needed. Excellent high pressure shower with a larger than averagr cubicle. Refreshing to have so many places to sit and relax thanks to sofas and chairs. Excellent choice for breakfast and food was fresh with a large variety of choice. Overall i would say i would definitely return. Thankyou to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable."
"We had a great time at this hotel - staff was wonderful and I had one of the best cosmopolitan cocktails at the bar I've had in 20 years. We watched the world cup matches in the lobby and the food at the Indian restaurant was yummy. The property from the exterior is not as fancy but the experience was great!"
