Welcome to Lot 1028 – Your Lake Kampeska Getaway!

Built in 1979 and thoughtfully renovated in 2016, this cozy, single-story cabin offers all the charm of a lake retreat with the comforts of home. Nestled on a flat, 100-foot-wide lot, there’s plenty of space to relax, play, and take in the stunning views of Lake Kampeska.

The cabin features 850 sq. ft. of updated living space, including a fully-equipped kitchen, bright sunroom, inviting living room, and stylish shiplap and vinyl plank flooring throughout. With 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, it comfortably sleeps 5 guests—with approval, we can accommodate up to 8.

Sleeping Arrangements:
• Primary Bedroom: Queen bed with extra room for a portable crib.
• Second Bedroom: Twin-over-full bunk bed with space for a pack-n-play or portable crib.
• A pack-n-play is available upon request. For additional guests, you’re welcome to bring an air mattress or sleeping bags—just let us know. (We provide an air pump!)

Inside Amenities:
• Fully stocked kitchen with concrete countertops, stove, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, and cooking essentials
• Dining area with seating for 5-6
• Washer and dryer for guest use
• Full bathroom with a walk-in shower, single sink, concrete countertop, rustic galvanized steel wainscoting, and plenty of towels (bath & beach)

Outdoor Features:
• Private dock access during the warm season (installed by May, removed late fall)
• Lakeside fire pit – perfect for evenings by the water
• Gas grill with propane provided

Pet-Friendly:
Well-behaved dogs are welcome! We allow up to 2 dogs (under 50 lbs preferred), with a one-time, nonrefundable pet fee: $100 for up to two dogs. Exceptions considered for special circumstances (like hunting dogs). Please kennel pets if left unattended, and keep them off the furniture and clean up hair—thanks for understanding!

About Lake Kampeska:

Lake Kampeska is a beautiful 5,250-acre glacial lake just northwest of Watertown, South Dakota. Known for its scenic shoreline (13.5 miles!) and artistic inspiration, it’s a hub for year-round outdoor fun—boating, fishing, biking, swimming, ice fishing, and more.

The lake is home to two state parks (Sandy Shores & Memorial Park) and one city park, plus over 15 miles of bike trails. You’ll also find two great golf courses nearby: Prairie Winds and Cattail Crossing.

We’re less than a mile from Sandy Shores State Park—perfect for launching a boat, snowmobiling, or enjoying beach time with the family.

Graduation

My wife and I came up to Watertown to attend the graduation of a friend's granddaughter. The cabin fit us just perfectly. The weather turned cold and rainy and the cabin was very cozy. Tina was very responsive to all of my texts. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at this adorable cabin that is located right on the lake. The cabin is modern but rustic with all the amenities.The driveway was large enough for our truck and boat and a few more cars for friends to visit.The homeowners are easy to reach via phone if there is any issues.The sunset views are perfect and the lawn was large enough to accommodate our goldendoodle.The location of this cabin is in a convenient spot to access the walking trail and just 10min from town to explore all that Watertown has to offer. Highly recommend this property!

Absolutely darling little cabin on the lake. Could not have been any cuter. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the lake. The views were spectacular and the neighborhood was very friendly. Would rent this cabin again in a heartbeat we thoroughly enjoyed it

Dream vacation

The cabin is beautiful, the lake is beautiful and the hospitality of the host was amazing. Walked into the cabin to relaxing music playing and a welcome basket full of treats. Two bags of ice in the fridge and a ton of free wood to use. The cabin was clean and we had an amazing time! We would highly recommend staying here!!!

Tina knows what she’s doing. We stayed here two years ago and the cabin is just as nice, if not better than that time. Having the garage is a big plus this time of year due to the temperature and wind. A++

As promised

Tina knows what she’s doing. This is our third stay and the property is charming and well maintained. The detached garage is a plus for loading the vehicle on those windy and/or cold days in October. Would highly recommend staying here.

We have stayed here before and will stay again. Nice cabin is well maintained and has everything we need. For an October stay the garage is a blessing. Haven’t been there in the summer but the location on the lake and outdoor amenities have to make a warm weather stay an excellent adventure.

Overall this is a cute little property. It is not however, suitable for infants and toddlers. There is no place to play in the water, as there are too many rocks on the beach, it is not sandy. The steps down to the dock were taken apart or separated and my elderly mother-in-law did not feel safe walking down them. We feel that the home itself was not the right pick for a family with young children. Also, is not suitable for toddlers to sleep either because they are too little for bunkbeds and too uncomfortable in a pack and play. Speaking of uncomfortable, there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms, only in the kitchen. they did not have a proper highchair, and the booster seat they said they had would not fit the chairs at the kitchen table. The infant high chair was dirty and gross. It is not ideal to dock your boat at this location. There is no fenced in yard for pets. It is very close to the main road which was not shown in the pictures. They limited the amenities to make you buy things like garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper and laundry detergent which I think should be included in your stay. The owner was very nice and pleasant. We received a gift basket but could not use many of the items in it. I would omit that. Again, we just figured this property was not right for our family with our one-year-old and 2 1/2-year-old. It’s a great property for other people and the owner was wonderful to work with.

AUGUST 20 - Great Weekend Family Stay.

We enjoyed our time over the weekend. The cabin is well outfitted for families with young children. The yard is expansive and the beach works well for playing and swimming. The children’s toys that were available made it easy to keep a toddler entertained. The cabin itself is quite nice, well done and comfortable. Would definitely rebook this property in the future.
