An absolute gem!
This cabin in the woods feels like a home away from home. With easy river access and immediate nature surrounding, this home is the definition of peace. When we stayed, it rained and we also got to see the sun bounce off all of the trees and the beautiful river. My dogs were so happy at this property and seeing them happy made it all worth it. I enjoyed not having cell service and using the wifi for night time entertainment. The hot tub was perfection and the bed was delightful. I’m excited to encourage friends to also check it out in the near future. This could easily be a go to spot for year round relaxation.

Loved staying at this home! My husband and I came for our babymoon with our two dogs and the house was perfect for us. The kitchen was definitely limited on essentials like pots and pans but we managed. Overall lovely stay thank you again!

This location is breathtaking. You're completely surrounded by tall trees and green moss, and the river is just the right size for a leisurely float. We had a few issues with things not being clean when we arrived, and wished the trails were a little more clearly marked, but overall it was an incredible experience. We hope to come back next year.

Magical getaway
I took my best friend on a 2 day girls trip for her bday. This house was so warm and cozy. We were snowed in but didnt care. We lost power a couple of times from snow storm but everything stayed nice and warm. Neighbor came to check on us which was very sweet. We were sad to leave.

Lovely but short on details
Beautiful setting and craftsmanship. However, we entered and the fireplace had not been cleaned. It reeked of dust and ashes and I had to clean it and air it out as my wife has asthma. The window shade facing the other cabin in our bedroom was broken and lying on the sill. We had to stuff six pillows in the window. In the NW we like our coffee. We were hoping for two cups each a day for the two of us or eight for two days. We were provided two. The cabin is very nicely done, it’s the details that set places apart and for the price we were hoping for attention to details.

Great getaway spot in lush green surroundings
Loved my stay here! I had originally booked for my spouse and two dogs however due to unforeseen circumstances, they were unable to join me. Nonetheless, I made that best of the peaceful, tranquil and absolutely beautiful space. The place was very clean and had all the luxuries. I enjoyed the fireplace and the stones which where hand picked which made it. The hot tub was perfect and the sound of the river never got old. I would absolutely go back and actually intend to very soon- hopefully next time with my honey and pups.

We've rented this property multiple times & know we will be back. It's cozy, comfortable & quiet. You aren't too far from civilization, but it sure feels like it, so it's a nice balance. Re: cleanliness, we noticed a lot of cobwebs in the house. Not entirely unexpected given the location & we never saw a single spider, but it did impact how clean the house seemed. Not a concern for us, but might be for others. There were also dishes left on the drying rack from a previous occupant. Again: not a deal breaker for us, but might be for others.

Great if you want to be disconnected
Cozy place, enjoyed it but there wasn't clear communications up front regarding cell and internet issues. Should have been clearly communicated in the description. Also discovered after arriving that all the trails around the river and house were all off limits as private trails of home owners in the area. That was quite disappointing. Enjoyed the home but also felt a bit "trapped" .

This cabin was so relaxing between the river right out the kitchen window and the hot tub on the back porch! Everything we needed was there and everything was clean. The shower is seriously amazing and the pictures do this place no justice.

Fabulous River Cottage - Bed Description/Images Inaccurate - Sleeps Only 3-4
Cottage is in a very lovely location on a natural bend of the Washougal River with a waterfall and wonderful, well-maintained trails for guests to explore. We loved the breakfast/dining area where you could look out onto the river and the porch is awesome. The custom fireplace is made with different rock specimens that any rockhound would love. The noise of the river and view is hard to beat. Our kids loved playing in the river. We arrived finding a queen bed, futon, couch and two reclining chairs. The images and description of the property state that you can sleep five. There appears to be one missing couch/bed replaced by two chairs and the sofa is definitely not a sleeper. We immediately called VACASA asking for clarification and to see if we weren't understanding how to manipulate the couch to make another bed due to the change in furniture. Customer service was very kind and stated they'd contact the owners and call back quickly. Crickets. We were never called back at all. It was frustrating and a bad experience. We made it work but a good stay at a property is directly correlated to a good sleep by all. Our kids were troopers so it worked out. If you have more than three people consider bringing mats and sleeping bags. Don't count on VACASA providing any service or help during your stay.

It was a great stay! Due to some work issues my husband couldn't come till the weekend so it was great to have the futon available for my mom and sister to celebrate my birthday with me. Beautiful home, great time swimming, my dog loved it! Very quiet. Loved walking the "white trail" around the neighborhood! A great 30th birthday!

The swimming hole out front was where we spent our days, just perfect! Trails around property are wonderful, lots of native plants and deer tracks. We wan to go back with a larger group and rent both cabins.

Perfect cabin for 2 in a beautiful location. Loved the private walking trails, and the view of the river from the kitchen. Location was also great for accessing Beacon Rock State Park, PCT, other trails, and Hood River, while still being set in the quiet woods. Kitchen had all the necessary equipment to cook simple meals, plus a grill outside. No problem frying eggs and potatoes, making curry, baking bread and cinnamon rolls, and grilling hot dogs. Could use a knife sharpener, but I've never found or expected to find a really sharp kitchen knife in a rental. One note to future visitors: the bedroom has a skylight that beams right onto the bed. Bring an eye mask if you sleep dark.

Did not receive gate code. Had to walk to house and get on wifi for calling to ask for assistance. Firewood was damp so fire was difficult. Instructions about damper opening and closing would be helpful. Otherwise incredible experience. Beautiful even when raining. Hot tub was perfect. House was very clean and tidy, easy to navigate and use. Thank you!

Our stay was truly one of the best we’ve had on VRBO. The cabin was exactly as advertised. It’s located on the Washougal, with access to tons of hiking and fly fishing. Our stay could not have been more relaxing.

Cute little cottage in the woods right on the river. Location was beautiful although we came right after the snow storm so hiking and exploring were limited without snow gear. Hot tub was small and without any frills but was warm and did the job. Grill didn’t have a temperature gage so made grilling a bit tricky. House didn’t have many basic kitchen necessities that other stays have had (any spices, oils, tin foil, plastic wrap, coffee filters, etc) so be sure to bring anything you think you’ll need. Otherwise it was a great little spot to have some quiet and escape the city!

A wonderful cozy retreat
This little cabin was a perfect close-to-home retreat for a long weekend. The river was gorgeous, the hot tub clean and ready to go, and the bed comfortable. We've already booked our next visit. I would say the only thing is that next time we might bring some more of our own cooking implements, as it's definitely not a kitchen for passionate cooks, but that's not a problem at all.

Amazing hidden gem on the Washougal River
This is a quaint cottage perched on a beautiful piece of property on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. The cottage itself is adorable, but very small. It was great for our family of 2 adults and 2 young children, but would not work for anything much more than that. The house has a lovely view of the river, and a fabulous swimming spot. Please note, the beach attached to the swimming spot is shared with the house next door. It's a very small beach, so just be aware that if both houses are rented, the beach feels quite tight and not particularly private. The property also has 4 hiking trails (2 advanced, 2 easy). Bring your kayak, paddle board or tube along to float the river! The house is very clean and well stocked, but if you are a cook of any kind, bring your own knives. The knives in the home are beyond dull and fairly useless. All in all, this is a hidden gem, and truly a 5-star experience!

Beautiful and cozy but customer service left much to be desired
The home itself was cozy and comfortable. It was very clean upon our arrival, the hot tub was fantastic, the bed was comfortable, the porch was perfect for hours of sitting and reading, and the beach and surrounding woods were gorgeous. It is a perfect place for 2 people and a dog. However, we spent a lot of time on our brief vacation trying to get help with the internet. The listing indicates there is internet and no cell service. We arrived expecting that we could watch a movie, listen to music, check emails, and make calls via wifi if we needed to. The internet was not working and we followed all of the instructions listed- none of them worked. There was no phone number listed for the owner or for Vacasa anywhere in the home, or on the Vacasa app, (The Help tab directs you to send an email if you have an issue, no phone number listed) and the directions indicate to inform someone if there is a problem at the home. We finally found the phone number by walking around the property looking for at least one bar of service on our phone, texted a friend who Googled the phone number for Vacasa and texted it to us. The home had a landline, which we used to call Vacasa and reported the internet issue and requested it be fixed. We never heard from anyone and the internet was never fixed. The amount of time we spent on this was a little ridiculous. We dealt with the no internet issue, but if there had been an actual urgent situation we would have been out of luck. We do recommend this property, but BRING THE PHONE NUMBER TO VACASA WITH YOU, and don't expect the internet to be working.

Excellent Retreat in the Forest
Clean and cozy cottage. A perfect escape from technology and civilization for my wife and I along with our dog. Quiet and tranquil setting amongst the wild conveniently close to trails and famous tourist spots. Also well within reach of excellent Portland food. Didn't get to hike the nearby trails on the acres of land around the cottage and didn't get to try the hot tub this time... We will definitely be back.

We really liked the house. A couple minor issues: Two different gate codes given in check in email causing frustration when trying to use the wrong one at night coming in. The firewood provided was not cured and would not burn. We had to go pick some up in town to have a fire. Otherwise great house and a fun place to stay.

Small yet cozy little cabin in the woods
Access to the river was phenomenal! Both the kids and dog exhausted themselves with swimming. The power went out one night and there were no flashlights or candles. Kitchen cooking pans and dishes are well stocked, but bring your own oil, spices, condiments, foil, wraps and Tupperware. The bed was super comfortable. The cabin has great natural lighting yet still private. We did not use the hot tub because the previous guest noted pine needles and leaves. We found some cigarette butts outside the back door and some debris swept under the hide-a-bed. Not a big deal, but a bit of a turn-off. We enjoyed the serenity of being away from town. I can see why Eva's cabin was restored and is now shared.

The property was beautiful however, the cottage did not seem very clean. The outside trash was full and tried to contact the owner but no response. I brought my dog but was unaware of the salmon fever that he could contract by being in the water until reading about it in the manual left in the cottage. It is a very peaceful place though.

Lovely weekend getaway!!
We unplugged and headed to Eva’s cottage to celebrate an anniversary and recent engagement! Also, 24 hours with no children!! This location was AMAZING! We hiked the Cape Horn Trail with beautiful views of the gorge, swam in the river (right out the front door of the cottage), relaxed in the hot tub and watched a little Hulu before bed. This place was perfect! Tucked away right along the river, the cottage had everything we needed to cook, play and chill!! We will DEFINITELY return—maybe even with the kiddos next time lol!
