"The good: Great rooms and staff with a convenient location central to everything. Rooms are good sized and modern. Decent food selection for breakfast as long as you are not vegetarian. The bad: Linen and towels had hair on them (though looks like they were left from washing). Some hotel breakfast items were very salty (especially the scrambled eggs). Not great options for fruits and vegetables. Fruits were also uncovered with flies flying around."

"This was an amazing hotel for my family of 4! After cramming into small rooms in a couple of other cities, the Altstadt family room included a separate bedroom for our children (with three twin beds). The main room had the double bed (king-sized) for my husband and I, plus a separate living area with a couch, coffee table, etc. The bathroom was spacious and offered exactly what we needed. The bedding was so cozy and comfortable, a luxurious place to sleep each night! The comfortable lobby offers a bar with a great selection of mixed drinks, beer and wine. The hotel’s laundry service was much appreciated since the laundromat we planned to use was closed the days we were in Salzburg. The location of the hotel is great - a short tram / bus ride from the train station and just around the corner from a wonderful walking area full of restaurants and shops. The breakfast offered by the hotel was great for our needs and the staff in all areas couldn’t have been more kind and attentive. I’d love to return to Salzburg some day and this hotel is where I will plan to stay!"
