Completely renovated bungalow on South Hill steps from quaint downtown Wallace!!
The home features three bedrooms on the main level along with two baths. The kitchen is all new and nicely appointed with granite counters, hickory cabinets, new appliances, and is well stocked with everything needed, opening to the dining and living room areas. The living room has a comfy couch along with a new 65" flat-screen TV if you want to relax with a bit of Netflix after a long day of skiing at Lookout or Silver (10 miles in either direction). The dining area features a large table with a bench on one side and four chairs around the other sides. Sliding barn doors add a pop of color in three of the rooms.
There is a large bonus room/loft/office upstairs with a twin daybed and a variety of fun/eclectic furnishings. There is also a full and usable basement below the main level with workout equipment and new 65" flat-screen TV to distract you while on the StairMaster as well as a small couch, bistro table, and dart board.
All furnishings throughout are "new" with an eclectic farmhouse chic style -- most items are new from the factory with a number of repurposed accents from a variety of Coeur d'Alene "junk" stores spread about such as a potter's bench hutch, a custom-built standing desk using found pallets, and other knick-knacks.
The master bedroom is comfy and spacious with a king-sized sleigh bed and a new 55" flat-screen TV. The second and third bedrooms are somewhat smaller but comfy with queen and double beds respectively.
The internet is the "good" internet in Wallace with solid download speeds of 30 Mbps and a Wi-Fi router that reaches all corners of the home. The three new flat-screen Roku TV's are all set up with several of the popular streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, and Peacock) for your viewing pleasure. A new 22 KW standby generator was installed this year to keep your stay warm and pleasant should there be a power outage in town.
There is parking for one car in the driveway and there is also usually room for parking two or three cars on the street (subject to the vagaries of the snow plows in the winter) . The home has an attached two-car garage but that is reserved for an owner car plus various tools and equipment. A Tesla charger is onsite in the garage with the charging cable routed to the outside of the garage for use at the driveway.
It is a century old home and there are a few quirks in particular that merit a mention -- the stairways from the main level to the loft and basement are tiny and the floors in a few areas (particularly the bonus room/loft) have a bit of a slope to them. On the whole it has been very nicely renovated/refurbished and we believe it is one of the better options you will find in Wallace.

This cottage is lovely and walkable to the restaurants, stores and bars. Grandparents, parents and two kids all enjoyed our stay. A big TV with a comfortable couch and chairs, to watch the Olympics Open Ceremony. Comfy beds. Pets allowed, and great communication with the owner. We all went skiing one day, as Lookout Pass is close. Easy checkin and checkout. Perfect weekend place for our family.
We stayed 3 nights at this wonderful home to enjoy riding the Coeur d’Alene and Hiawatha biking trails. Absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful home. Great location! Easy walk to lovely historic Wallace and to the trail. The home is great; kitchen is well stocked and a joy to cook in. Would love to come back and stay again. Everything was perfect!
Adorable home in a wonderful location! Within walking distance to the town of Wallace! Was a great home base to experience the Hiawatha bike trail and other trails!
The house was great! It has been nicely updated, but you can still see the original character of the home. It is on a quiet road and is in a great location to have the ability to walk to downtown Wallace. Will stay here again for sure!
This home was everything we needed for our stay in Wallace. It was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with all we needed to make our meals. Beds were comfy and we were able to walk to everything in town from the home. Thanks for the great stay!
Holiday trip with family with a perfect getaway stay!
Traveled to beautiful Wallace for the week of Christmas with my husband, two grown children future daughter in law and had a wonderful time. Plenty of room for all of us. We played darts, cooked many meals, walked from the house to downtown, and watched lots of movies. The house was welcoming and clean. The host made check in and out super simple. Hope to stay again!
What a great place. Love the little touches Eric provided. I think this was one of the best VRBO house I have stayed in. Never seen a house filled with so much extras. From food to all the spices to the lollipop and the appliances. Eric communicated with me the whole time. Thank you for the follow up during our stay. We will definitely stay at this place again. Thank you Eric for everything.
We absolutely loved this home. Its decorative appointments are charming, and the home is well-supplied with everything to make any stay complete and easy. The house is ideally located in Wallace. A variety of restaurants are within walking distance. Parking sounded limited; however, there's ample parking across the street and room for one vehicle in the adjacent gravel lot. If you have more than three vehicles, or a vehicle towing a trailer, parking will be tight, so plan accordingly. All in all, this is a premium property. We look for a restay at some point in the future.
6 of us stayed in the house (4 adults, 1 child & 1 teen). It was perfect! The house was clean, styled amazingly and overall comfortable. We also hosted a family dinner for 15 of us while there and there was plenty of space for everyone to comfortably eat and find a place to relax. The grill was very useful that night! We truly could not have asked for a better place to stay and Eric (the host) was very thoughtful and easy to reach! I would definitely stay here again!
Very nice home in Wallace. Clean, well decorated, all amenities as advertised. Heating/cooling and water temps and pressure were great. Great location a quick drive to the Hiawatha Trail and the Trail of the Coeur d'Alene.
Minor issue with the hill to/from downtown, which was tough for my wife who has bum knees. But it's not too bad.
Eric and Amy have truly outdone themselves with the remodel of this stunning 100-year-old house! The home is centrally located, making it easy to explore everything in town. We stayed during the winter and had an amazing time skiing at Lookout Mountain. The house is impeccably stocked with everything you could possibly need. The linens on the beds were soft and cozy, and the towels were top-notch. The decor is simply fabulous, blending charm and comfort perfectly. Our family enjoyed unforgettable game nights in the spacious living room, and the kitchen was ideal for preparing meals together. It's clear that a lot of thought went into every detail. We ski every year, and without a doubt, we’ll be renting this VRBO again. Kudos to Eric and Amy for creating such a wonderful getaway spot. Well done!
Perfection. What an amazing home. The owners didn’t overlook anything. So much forethought. The furnishings are amazing. The beds, the linen, and even the towels were all top shelf. The deck and patio were so peaceful. Also, the bonus basement room was a hit. That the home is only a couple of blocks from town in so convenient. 5 Stars all the way around and I can’t imagine there is a nicer rental in the Silver Valley. Speaking of the location we had tons of fun. We biked the Hiawatha Trail, hiked the Pulaski Trail and one night my son and I rented the Arid Peak Fire Lookout. The 3-mile hike in and out from the lookout was fast and easy. However, there are a lot of bears in the area. We carried bear spray (I left it at the house for others & TSA might take issue at the airport). In closing, the owner of the home, Eric, was very communicative. Seems like a super guy. - Chris P
