This is a wonderful place to stay up near the Bay of Islands. The property is a botanical garden, and the pool was a delightful, tropical refresher after a long drive. The breakfast was superb, and eating out on the verandah in the garden was a treat.
We throughly enjoyed our stay here. Tania was a fantastic host, a friendly face when we arrived and she made delicious breakfast for us, it was like we were eating out at a cafe! The pool and hot tubs were brilliant and the surrounding trees and garden made it feel like a sanctuary. There were so many little unique touches within the room that did not go unnoticed…chocolate on the pillow, bathrobes, quilted stamp on the toilet paper, fresh jug of water and the breakfast menu was awesome! Well done Tania, we would most definitely stay again if we are ever back up North.
Sparkling clean accomodation with thoughtful and modern touches. The pool and hot tub were amazing. Especially in this nice and calm environment thanks to the large and beautiful garden. Can absolutely recommend.
Pateke Lodge was excellent. Engaging and friendly owners. Fabulous breakfast. The landscaping and gardens are fantastic. Highly recommend staying there
My husband & I stayed for 3 nights. We had an amazing & relaxing time at Pāteke Lodge, and will definitely stay again. The room was well presented & incredibly clean. We enjoyed our breakfasts every morning, along with tea & coffee selections. The bed was comfortable & we had uninterrupted sleeps. Having access to the spa was lovely during the evenings.
Make sure you say hi to Jack the Cat.
Proprietaire de ce B&B est très gentile et serviable. Petit dejeuner servi dans la chambre est excellent! Chambre n’est pas equipé de l’air climatisé, ce n’est pas comflortable lorsqu’il fait chaud dehors.
Beautiful lodging, pool, forest varieties, with flexible hostess. Hot breakfasts included. Peaceful setting near kauri forest township and five waterfalls.
We enjoyed our little get away from it all for a few days. Pateke Lodge has lovely owners, great breakfasts, peaceful and quiet tropical surroundings and a clean solar heated swimming pool.
Located just outside Kerikeri, this is a beautiful property with a relaxing vibe, nestled amongst a lovely garden setting (including a pool!)
From the moment we arrived, Tania and Troy made us feel very welcome and we were well looked after during our stay. The breakfast is amazing too!
Perfectly located for Northland attractions, e.g. Paihia, Waitangi, Russell, Cape Reinga. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Northland.
My wife and I had a very pleasant stay at 88 Lodge. The hosts Geoff and Chris were lovely and provided us with hand written guides of what to see and do from their own personal experience when we were travelling around. Geoff and Chris were very accommodating and took pride in the level of service they provided which was rightly deserved. The setting was visually appealing and very relaxing.
Sadly, we were their very last guests as the business has been on-sold after 16 years running 88 Lodge. Geoff and Chris had built a remarkable reputation judging from the awards they have received over the years and it can only be hoped that the new owners will aspire to the same level of service and accommodation. We wish Geoff and Chris all the best for whatever the future brings for them.
A good place to stay, just off HW10 and with easy reach of Kerikeri and other attraction, like vineyards.
Breakfast croissants were so fresh.
A beautiful garden full of birds.
Very friendly hosts, Geoff and Chris.
I had a lovely stay at Geoff and Chris' place. The room was inmaculate and perfectly clean.
I appreciated how warm and dry the house was, specially with the weather being damp and cold, it was lovely to come back and relax to the right temperature inside.
Breakfast was excellent, Chris made sure I had my dose of freshly brewed coffee every morning alongside homemade croissants with jam and lovely seasoned fruit salad.Though he will make sure you have anything you want!
Geoff and Chris have plenty of knowledge for recommendations and I truly enjoyed our morning talks over coffee but feeling at the same time completely private and very welcome. Thanks so much Geoff and Chris for your hospitality.
I look forward to coming back again to your wonderful retreat.
Great room. Quiet. Super friendly hosts who will do all your restaurant bookings for you. They were lovely people who were really keen to please. Bit off the beaten track with tight parking.
Lovely friendly place. Hosts were very helpful booked our meals at local restaurants Geoff was very helpful with helping us decide where to visit. Chris breakfasts to die for
