"It was unnerving to use a kiosk to sign in. Fortunately, a maintenance person was there to let me into the bathroom after being on the road for 6 hours! "Pool and Hot Tub heater was broken so it was unusable. One of the elevators was broken. Our ice machine was broken. Our room didn't have body wash stocked up which makes me think they didn't check before we checked in. The front desk assigned us the wrong room and the keys didn't work so we had to clarify everything. Paid $25 for valet and they didn't ask for any information and could've given our car to anyone who said it was theirs."

"Front office very friendly and the hotel is Pet friendly and well equipped fenced pet place, the breakfast is good but they run out of few items quite often so by the time you want a specific item you may not have it. Asking to refill made the one of the staff not so happy so adjusted with many other items that were available. The beach is not something like the boardwalk type it has coastal beach renourishment metal pipes , so swimmers use caution and the beach also has grass access points and dune grass all along, along with lots of seaweed,algae, and dead coral washed up the shore and if one likes a lighter crowd beach to read book in peace, this beach works."

"The hotel was fine, but not great. The pictures on the site felt like they were taken of a model room and definitely not the room we got. There was a target receipt in our window and the room smelled strongly of vanilla and slightly of weed, like someone was trying to mask the smell. My biggest complaint is that the bathroom door had been replaced with a "barn door" style door with an inch gap that let sounds and smells pass freely into the main room."

"Biggest issue was parking - pay too much for valet and I parked my own car even… since it is in front of the hotel. Menu was good but limited. I unfortunately stayed when they were industrial cleaning carpets. Pool was closed and staff couldn’t tell me if or when it would open. 3 stars"

"Property under major renovation and not once was it mentioned on line or anywhere else. Literally walked through power tools, tarps, construction workers to get to the elevator. Our room appeared to have been renovated already but smelled like bug spray. The refrigerator was warm. The coffee maker didn't have an accessible outlet to plug it in and the people who were sent to assist in resolving any of this did not speak English and were trying to translate on an app. We could still not understand what they were saying to us. Breakfast was the same thing 3 mornings in a row and there is no convenient place to dine fir other meals. I make 5-6 trips to Norfolk a year for the past 5 years and this was the absolute worst experience ever. Oh by the way, the pool doesn't exist so don't be fooled by the pretty picture on the website!"
