"We chose this hotel because of the onsite parking. It’s on the outskirts of the city and cost about 9€ in a taxi to get to the centre. It looks like a basic motel from the outside but the inside is lovely, nicely furnished. It’s clean, comfortable and the bathroom was modern. We enjoyed the breakfast, plenty of choice. Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Villar De Plasencia?
The best area to stay in Villar De Plasencia is within the village itself, particularly around the central square, Plaza Mayor.

This area is the heart of Villar De Plasencia, a small, quiet village located in the Jerte Valley. It's characterised by traditional Extremaduran architecture, with narrow streets and whitewashed buildings. The Plaza Mayor is the focal point, where you'll find the local church and a few small shops and eateries. It's a peaceful spot, superb for experiencing genuine Spanish rural life.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find the village centre ideal. It offers a chance to disconnect and enjoy the slow pace of life, with opportunities for gentle strolls through the village and surrounding countryside. The focus here is on relaxation and enjoying the local culture.

For those interested in exploring the natural beauty of the Jerte Valley, staying in the village provides a convenient base for day trips. You can easily access hiking trails, cherry orchards, and natural swimming spots.
When is the best time to go to Villar De Plasencia?
The best time to visit Villar de Plasencia is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months. These periods offer pleasant weather, making it ideal for exploring the region.

Spring brings blooming wildflowers and comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C. This is a wonderful time for couples who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking in the surrounding Sierra de Gredos mountains or leisurely strolls through the village. The natural parks are at their most beautiful, providing stunning backdrops for photography and relaxation.

Autumn also provides agreeable weather, with temperatures usually between 18°C and 28°C, and the landscape transforms with rich, warm colours. This season is superb for travellers interested in local gastronomy and cultural events, as it often coincides with harvest festivals in nearby towns. It's a great time to enjoy the local cuisine without the intense heat of summer.

While summer (July and August) can be very hot, often exceeding 35°C, it's still an option for those who don't mind the heat and want to experience the local village life at its most relaxed pace, perhaps enjoying siestas and cooler evenings.
