"We’re just sorry we arrived late and had to check out early for wine tastings in the morning. A thoughtful modern renovation of an old stone farmhouse set in a tranquil village overlooking vineyards. Our breakfast of fresh juice and fruits, cheese and a selection of salmon and cured meats was prepared by a very charming local woman. When I return to the region, I will definitely include this special small hôtel on my itinerary. "

"Impressive looking entrance and public areas but rooms are very very basic. No bar or restaurant unless you book with a ‘separate’ business ? Pleasant staff at checkin. 10-15 minute walk in to town. We had no hot water for our whole stay and we’re only offered the use of another room just before checkout. Didn’t get breakfast because it was overcrowded and chaotic. Just one small hot water dispenser for around 100 people. Dirty cups, no free tables. Very disappointing. "

"This hotel is right in the towns center square, which worried me a bit when booking it but as there is not a lot of choice in Haro for hotels I booked and was very happy I did! The room we got was right over the square and hotel bar, but it was Dead quiet!, due to the triple glazed windows! Such a convenient and easy walk to the bars for dinner and of course the wineries for tastings! The train station was an experience but it all worked!"

"An incrddible beautiful old building with great history. However it is tired and very dated, tables in lounge frayed, paint coming off bedroom doors etc. It needs refurb, The dining area is hidden behind large meter+ square plant pots, not very romantic in such a building. Dining service was aweful but food good. The receptionist guy was incredibly helpful and even went out on the street to find parking for us. We have stayed there before but will not be back …"

"The staff at Valdelana were fantastic. In October, restaurants are not always open but the hotel staff were informative. There are not dependable taxis in Elciego so it is great if you have a car. The cellar tour and tasting is not to be missed. I will stay here again and again."

"Everything comes with a price here. They charge water, corkscrew and won't allow you to checkout late, not even for 30 mins, unless you pay. My room is okay, but kind of old, and the spa can be recommended but I don't think the water is very clean. Good thing is that you can enjoy it almost empty in the morning, of course, if you paid for it."
