An opportunity to spend a night in a revamped farmhouse turned guesthouse. The Farmhouse lodge is situated about 15-20 minutes west of the town of Vik right off of the Ring Road and has two levels (the main and a walk out basement which is quite bright). Stayed in a single room with shared bathroom (which I think I had to myself) that was on the lower level facing south with a big bright window and beautiful view). All I could hear were the birds at night. There is courtesy coffee, tea and biscuits available all the time. Buffet breakfast is an extra 2700ish kr and is convenient, including various cereals, seed mixes, cheeses, cold cuts, vegetables, fruits, cakes, diy waffles, breads, croissants, jams and spreads, tea, coffee and juices. The dining area has wonderful scenic views. The decor is very tasteful, Scandinavian farmhouse modern. Staff are very professional and courteous

Gorgeous views,although not from my very humid, smelly room. Had to wait for loo 20-30mins three times (twice evening,one morning) as there is ONE shared shower/loo room. The kitchen is a minute's walk away in a far barn. A very clean and pretty barn, just not handy- not one for midnight snackers! Would pick somewhere less damp, closer to Vik and with better loo facilities next time.

Hello dear Ayesha,Thank you for your visit.You have booked a room with shared bathroom, however please note that, the bathroom is only shared with 2 rooms because all the other rooms have private bathrooms, so for sure it was just a coincidence that you all wanted to shower at the same time frame.Please note that, the shared kitchen is not included in our rooms description and its something extra we offer our guests. Its located in a different building and its has also a lounge with ping pong table, darts board, table games, sofas where guests can have some fun without disturbing other guests.Wish all the best.Kind regards,

Smelled good, nice music playing. We have been traveling all day in the snow and arrived at 3:35pm and was told checkin is at 4:00pm. Had to sit there (the only one there) while Sylvia surfed the internet. Then at 4:00pm she said she could check us in. I just thought that was odd since nobody else was there and our room was ready.

When you arrived they were taking care of last details and checking all rooms so everything would be perfect.Please note that, I do not surf on internet not even on my free time because i thing its boring. I prefer a good book instead. However, my job demands a lot of computer work, ex: invoices, payments, emails, messages on booking channels, that need to be addressed as soon as I arrive at the reception at 3 pm..We always invite our guests to drink some hot coffee or tea and cookies while enjoying our beautiful view, when they arrive earlier.Wish you all the best.Farmhouse Lodge Team

Our stay was made fantastic by the staff. The Portuguese woman running the front desk provided excellent service, giving great recommendations for food and attractions in the area. We found Vik had not a lot to do in the evenings, but this staff member showed us the board games she had added to the hotel and we had great fun playing games and chatting with her for the evening. Plus the room was extremely spacious and clean and the hotel was a very short drive away from the Black Sand Beach (Reynisfjara) and the town of Vik. Overall a great stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Iceland's south coast!

This was my least favorite place we stayed in Iceland. It was not worth the $200 a night we paid and felt more like a dorm than a hotel. Our room was in the basement, and it was so small that we didn't have room to open our suitcases. No fridge or coffee/tea in the room. The furniture was old and very basic. You can hear other people, especially in the morning when people are walking upstairs at breakfast. I wish we'd stayed somewhere else in Vik.

We enjoyed our time at the property. Staff was very friendly. Make sure to eat before or bring food with you. You’ll pass options before arriving. Breakfast is offered for an extra charge. Parking was easy and there are two entrances to make getting to and from your room easier.

Rude staff, loud doors slamming, and an overpriced breakfast that was yogurt, nuts, and cheese. Also, they request you don’t wear shoes in the common areas (including dinning area and bathroom) yet the shared bathroom was soaked by other guests.

This was advised by our government during covid times and we realised that this policy was very beneficial to our guests comfort.After checking your booking we had confirmed that you didn't had breakfast, so we would like to inform regarding all the products we have available for our guests at Farmhouse Lodge Breakfast.Our breakfast: croissants, chocolate croissants, buns and homemade bread fresh baked in the oven every morning; fresh vegetables (tomato, cucumber and paprika), eggs, cream cheese, camembert cheese, paprika cheese, blue cheese, gouda cheese, ham, salami, butter, fresh fruit (apples and Oranges), canned fruit (peaches and pears), dry fruit (banana, prune, peach, raisins), chocolate cake, yogurts (caramel, strawberry, greek), vegan milk, miilK, juices (orange and apple), tea (black, red fruits, lemon and mint) cereals (granola, oat, cheerios, cornflakes), seeds (sunflower, flax, chia, sesame), you can make waffles at our waffles station and add wipe cream, nutella, honey, caramel syrup, apple syrup, peanut butter, jams, and in the winter we always have home made pumpkin jam that all our guests adore. The Farm Lodge was located, close to the beautiful town of Vik, Black Sand Beach, a glacier and waterfalls. The view from our bedroom window was amazing! The facility was very clean with the essential items needed to cook. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

We stayed in one of three guest houses across from the main house, not in the yurts. A few things could be improved: black out curtains, two lamps did not work, the front door did not lock, and the Wi-Fi was spotty. The setting was beautiful, though, about a 10 minute drive from the town of Vik. Friendly staff, and a comfortable main house where you could have a cup of tea or coffee, but overall it seemed a bit expensive for the value. We did not choose the breakfast because it seemed overpriced for what it was.

The picture of the property is so bad that it actually was creeping/worrying me out till the time I checked in. And it was an exactly opposite experience. The property was absolutely neat, clean, and awesome. The host and staff were very friendly and helpful. For future travelers ... Please don't go by the picture of the property and definitely trust it.

We loved the solitude of this location and how easy it was to get into Vik when we wanted to walk around, go for a hike or go out to eat. The view was exactly what we were hoping for and we loved being able to unwind in the common space upstairs with a cup of coffee or tea.

Breakfast was great. Access to the Viking village, lighthouse and beach were a nice surprise. View of the mountains and ocean were awesome. Bathroom shower was the best so far on our trip.

Quiet location near Vik, car needed to get into town. Friendly and helpful host. Good facilities with free tea and coffee 24/7. Breakfast looked a bit limited for the price (so we declined).
