About this property

Teton Homestead: Renovated Historic Cabin + Views

  • Summary:

Our charming mountain cabin, located in the foothills of the Big Hole Mountains, boasts a rich family history dating back to the settlement of the Bates area on the west side of Idaho's Teton Valley. With incredible views stretching across Teton Valley and the entire Teton Mountain Range, this cabin is a perfect blend of rustic tradition and modern luxury. Nestled among the aspen trees, the cabin offers an elevated vantage point to soak in the valley and dramatic mountain vistas.

    The Space:

Our cabin retains its cozy log cabin ambiance while featuring a host of modern upgrades. Recently renovated, it boasts high-end finishes such as barn-wood accents, granite countertops, and historical art that celebrates the pioneering spirit of the West. The kitchen, fully equipped for your culinary adventures, features stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, along with kid-friendly dishes. Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining area seats four and offers a scenic spot to share meals.

The living room, framed by a charming, weathered Western barn that partially obscures the Tetons, is a cozy retreat with a plush couch (including a chaise lounge that converts into a sleeper trundle). It’s an ideal spot for relaxing and enjoying the views or winding down with a movie on the large flat-screen smart TV.

The bedroom is outfitted with a comfortable queen bed and has an en-suite bathroom complete with a tub and shower combination. Convenient amenities like a stacked washer and dryer make stays both comfortable and practical.

Stay connected with Wi-Fi and enjoy access to your streaming services, or unplug with a selection of board and card games. This cabin promises a memorable stay, where you can experience the tranquility of nature without sacrificing comfort.

Teton Valley comes alive in the summer with a plethora of outdoor activities to engage in. Float serenely down the Teton River or challenge yourself with fly fishing in its crystal-clear waters or the world-class currents of the Snake River. Grand Targhee Resort offers a variety of summer activities, from scenic chairlift rides to adventurous mountain biking trails. Explore the thriving downtowns of Driggs and Victor, Idaho, where you can experience local cuisine, shopping, and a vibrant outdoor music series. For mountain biking enthusiasts, the area boasts world-class trails that offer exhilarating rides with stunning views. Hiking options abound, from the rugged paths of Grand Teton National Park to the accessible trails up Mahogany Canyon right out your back door. Whatever your outdoor preference, our cabin is a gateway to these exceptional summer adventures.

Well-run place, close to Driggs and skiing but very much off the beaten path. Would stay again.

My son in law and I were looking far a base for day trips to Jackson Hole and horseback riding and scenic driving in the Driggs area. This cabin gave us separate sleeping arrangements in a location away from town but close enough to still be convenient to Victor and Driggs. For us, the location and amenities were perfect. It is an old cabin, nicely updated and still a bit rustic. It’s well equipped with appliances, utensils and basic kitchen items. The view of the sun coming up and sitting on the Tetons is a treat.

Perfection

This was the perfect place for my husband and I to get away for a few days. This is our new favorite place to stay in the valley. Such a cute cozy cabin with an amazing view. Quiet and close to biking and hiking. Bed was comfortable....that's really important to me! Loved watching the sun come up over the mountains each morning.

Country cabin - viewing backside of Tetons

It’s a ways out in the country. Surrounded by beautiful agricultural area. Note: 7.5 miles to grocery/gas in Victor, ID. Cabin in nice restored condition, cozy and very quiet. Nice morning and evening view of backside Teton range. Property info list needs updating regarding heating house. Enjoyable stay, thank you. Scott

Great place

Great place. My wife would live there if she could. Everything we needed was there. Good communication. The only thing missing was a long handled broom. The floor is to far away for us old folks. Would stay again

Great log cabin with great views of the Teton Mountains!

The cabin was clean and nicely appointed. The views were fantastic. We stayed there for the Fourth of July and enjoyed watching the nearby towns firework demonstrations from the cabin’s front porch. Only downside was the Internet is slow, but then you should be enjoying the outdoors but wanted to point it out in the event you were planning to go there to work remotely. We loved that the log cabin was remote, there were very few cars and it was very peaceful at night. No air conditioning, but they have 2 large fans which kept the air moving and it cooled-off enough at night, so we didn’t miss not having AC.For activities: we went to the Grand Tetons National Park, Shoshone Falls & Craters of the Moon National Monument. Shoshone Falls is considered “The Niagara Falls of the West”.We’d stay there again, if the opportunity presents itself.
View from the front porch of the cabin.

My first VRBO

Cabin was very accommodating. No issues other than the heater not working. Not a big issue save for early in the morning and later in the evening... was a bit cool in the cabin. All else very good. I wish I had more thoroughly researched the cabin location in proximity to where we wanted to go. It was 10 miles from the "main road" and then 30-35 miles further, in traffic, with considerable road construction. But the trip was still enjoyable, the cabin was a unique experience, and the area beautiful.
