Beautiful little rooms embedded on the side of the mountain. It is very secure, quiet, and has amazing views. The staff, especially the main lady, were so helpful. She even walked us to the bus stop to show us where it was. And taught us a local card game!! Thank you!!
A lovely resort a short bus ride (10-15 mins) from Vico Equense train station - but do check the bus schedule to ensure you get the bus you need (approx. 2-3 per hour from the stop 1 min. walk from the resort). The facilities are all good, lovely pool, nice breakfast, wonderful staff, sublime views from our room's balcony. And the pizza restaurant next door - Da Giovanni - is amazing value with unbeatable views of the sea and coast. There's also a local bar / cafe / gelateria next to the restaurant that is excellent and well worth a visit. Overall, a brilliant stay and highly recommended!
I have so many fond things to say of L’ulivo and the amazing staff there. Everyone made us feel so welcome and were all truly the kindest people. We travelled with family and 2 babies, and the staff did everything possible to make us feel right at home. They were all so kind to the babies and accommodated them well. We travelled all over Italy, and this stay was our favorite. From the peaceful surroundings, the pool, the friendly staff, the beautiful views, the wonderful breakfast, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, the great restaurant right next door; everything about this stay felt refreshing and rejuvenating. We highly recommend!
The ladies working at the front desk are so kind and helpful! They make you feel so welcome. Definitely would recommend them! The rooms are very clean, the air conditioning is great. Can walk down into town from the resort fairly easily (~20 minutes downhill) but walking back up is a challenge (possible, but definitely don’t recommend doing it with luggage). There is a good restaurant right beside the resort, and a grocery store, but be aware that the hours of operation are limited. The pool was lovely, and views are unbeatable!
Lovely village with great local bus service to the town. Also fab restaurant next door.hotel is lovely, clean, lovely views over the bay from balcony and staff very attentive and helpful. Nice pool area which we enjoyed and the best lemon cello spritz in Italy. Would certainly recommend staying here
We had a lovely stay here as a family. The service is unmatched with nice and warm staff who greeted us from first day! The rooms are kept very clean, and the view/sunsets from the room is amazing.
Such a lovely family run hotel. Staff extremely friendly, breakfast fresh & good choice. Marie Angelo makes the best Limoncello Spritz around. Would highly recommend & the bus stops outside the hotel.
D’ Giovanni restaurant next door serves lovely food & Mateo was a fab waiter.
Lovely hotel, great views and super friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get to using public transport, get the bus from outside the station, and it’s a quick 5 mins journey up the hill. Breakfast was delicious, pastries and cake in particular.
The service was great. Staff was very helpful and explained how to get around the area. Very clean! Bed was comfortable and had a nice warm throw blanket to cover yourself when sitting in the balcony. View was spectacular
Fabulous views, comfortable beds and the local bus stops just outside, 10 minute ride to Vico and train station. You do not need a car! Great value away from the hustle and bustle, very friendly and helpful ladies running this gem.
Staff was great Raquel was the best. Maria Angela was fantastic always helpful friendly helpful with directions and anything we needed view was awesome. Breakfast was good but needed variety. It was same everyday.
This is a great hotel. The staff are friendly and they go out of their way to be helpful. The view is nice and the local neighborhood is picturesque. The breakfast buffet is well stocked with locally made cheeses, a selection of gluten free products as well as individually made coffee drinks. The room was comfortable and well equipped and the balcony was a nice place to sit and look out over the city below. If you are visiting the area, I highly recommend this hotel!
We had a wonderful stay at L’Ulivio – and while our calves may never recover from the daily pilgrimage up the hill, our hearts are full.
First off, massive praise to the young lady on reception. She was an absolute gem – friendly, endlessly helpful, and somehow managed to have a bus timetable on hand for every possible journey, interdimensional or otherwise. Nothing was too much trouble – advice, directions, spiritual guidance – she had it all.
The local residents deserve their own five stars. Genuinely top-class human beings. We were blown away by their kindness and warmth. They’d probably carry you home if you asked nicely (and after a glass of limoncello).
There’s a sweet little church nearby, and a real sense of old-school community spirit. You’ll find a great local coffee shop, a nice pizzeria, and a couple of small bars where you’ll feel like you’ve wandered into someone’s lively living room.
The rooms? Basic but clean and comfy, with daily maid service.
Now, a note on the hill. It’s not a hill. It’s a mountain disguised as a road. Fit? So are we. But by day three, we were considering hiring a donkey. After the bus service ends, local taxis will charge you €45 to drive you about as far as you can throw pasta. A little hotel-run shuttle would go down very well – or at least some sort of cheering squad at the halfway point.
Still, if you’re after an authentic Italian experience – L’Ulivio is a great base. Just pack your hiking boots… and maybe a grappling hook!

Beautiful family run hotel. Has everything you need from a hotel!
Location was secluded and in the countryside but still within a 15 minute drive to town. The space was great and the exterior of the place was fantastic, well maintained. Check in was easy and the hosts were great.
friendly staff, GEORGOUS VIEW from our room. large and comfortable for the 3 of us. Had a little fridge to stash our cheese and salami. bathroom was nice, beds were comfy. Parking was hit or miss depending on when you came/went but we had no problem overall. The pool area was idyllic and overflowing with jasmine, it was a nice place to relax and cool off on a hot afternoon. The drive was wild up the mountain, def not for the feint of heart, luckily my husband loved it. There are birds chirping an unusual tune in the afternoons, and the breeze is perfect. Markets nearby as well as a bus stop to town. Would stay again, and will daydream about it often.
