"We very much enjoyed our brief getaway to Maple Lake, thanks in large part to this charming cottage. Historic high temperatures allowed us to enjoy ample hiking at nearby Lake Maria State Park as well as atop Mink Lake itself. We relaxed on the deck, dined on scallops, and made a campfire under the stars. In the morning, we were greeted by a pair of trumpeter swans on the lake. They sunbathed for several hours. It was a great way to start our Sunday! Thanks for a memorable stay!"

"Staff was nice. Room was pretty rough, mini fridge didn't fit in cabinet so the cabinet door wouldn't close, phone had no cover on it not even the numbers and the remodel was rough in the bathroom you could see the hole in the wall where the old mirror (which was larger than the new one) was. They also closed one of the pools for a couple private parties; would have been nice to been informed of this ahead of time. We typically enjoy this location as we visit the area often. This visit was definitely disappointing."

We had a very relaxing stay, loved the view and although it was cold outside, we were cozy and warm inside. Our host was quick to respond and made our stay a very memorable one! We would definitely stay again! "

"Pretty horrible experience. The house smelled horribly of sewer. We contacted the host and was told that the cleaning lady never mentioned the smell and to run water in the drains. We did however, the smell permeated throughout the house the entire stay. The host did not contact us after we reported it to check on us. Four of us left feeling very ill. We also tried to use the oven however that had oven cleaner still caked on it. That also smelled horrible and we were not able to use the oven. Very disappointed in the whole situation. This was our second time renting this place and we were very disappointed. "

"This is a very older motel with I am sure with original furniture. The pillows on the bed very flat! The lamps questionable if you can turn them off or on and stay. Minimal outlets. No continental breakfast, there is coffee sometimes, the culligan style water bottle is room temperature in the lobby. Did not go into the pool area. Had to check to be the toilet so it was not continuous run. Did not need to use the shower in the room. I believe the upper level rooms are rented. The staff people are helpful telling about places to eat and always polite. The room was clean. "
