  • Located in the beautiful Gulf Coast town of Venice, Laurel Bungalow is nestled in the quiet neighborhood known as the Historic Edgewood District, just off the Island of Venice. Enjoy all the luxuries of Florida right under your roof or hop on your bicycle and ride 1/2 mile to the Legacy Trail, 1 mile to downtown Venice or 2 miles to Venice Beach or Casperson's Beach (the Sharks Tooth Capital of the World). Laurel Bungalow boasts a private heated saltwater pool, outdoor kitchen w/ Green Egg and gas grill, covered seating area with television, fire table, outdoor shower and detached "pool house" with a queen bed and home theater with 86" TV. The home also has a cozy screened porch with separate fenced in side yard. The main house has a comfortable living room, dining table that easily seats 8, kitchen, laundry room/bath, 2 bedrooms (one king bed and one queen bed) plus office with high speed WiFi. 3rd bedroom (with queen bed) is located in detached pool house. Our neighborhood has a playground/park, baseball fields, tennis & pickle ball courts. Conveniently located to all Venice has to offer~ beach, shopping, restaurants, theater, golf, bike trails, you name it! ~ and everything else you'll find right under your own roof! Laurel Bungalow is a dog friendly, non-smoking property. This is a private residence, with a private pool, and not shared by other rental homes.

This was truly an awesome experience. The house is clean and has any and everything you could ever need!! The host always got back to me in minutes! Perfect check in notes and a detailed book of all the instructions for the house. The pool was perfect and the pool house was a private oasis from the main house. The outside shower is delightful and the fenced yard brought comfort in letting the dogs run. The screened patio was enjoyable and the lanai was such a beautiful space to just hang out and unwind with friends. We appreciate having the dogs with us on vacation! We would definitely recommend and hope to return to enjoy this wonderfully decorated, eclectic house!

Our 3 weeks exceeded our expectations. We had prompt communications with the hosts. The landscaping was beautiful and well kept, allowing for complete privacy on the grounds.The pool was sparkling. We stayed here for 4 weeks and we really enjoyed our vacation. The backyard is amazing and that's where we spent most of our time. Very secluded that you don't even feel your in town. The house itself is an older home with vintage decor. There was a funky smell when we first got there, but it seemed to improve after a few days or maybe we just got used to it. (Not sure which one) The main bathroom is pretty small but my husband loved the outdoor shower so I pretty much had the bathroom to myself. We walk an hour every morning and the Legecy Park (with the bike trail) was only a 3 minute drive. Publix was two stoplights down on Venice Blvd and downtown shopping was just over the bridge, so quick access to many things. Greg & Edie were great hosts and responded to any issues we were having.

Great location to beaches! Many great restaurants with 30 minute radius. Close to downtown Venice! My husband and kids had a blast fishing on the beach and combing the beaches for shark teeth. The pool and outdoor patio setup was outstanding! We loved the outdoor shower, great touch after a long day at the beach. We also enjoyed a trip to legoland for the day!

Love Laurel Bungalow. It is adorable, comfortable, and loved our stay. The furniture is not only cute, it is very comfortable. Our beds were so comfortable, and the room was roomy. Everyone who came to visit loved it. I loved having coffee on the screen porch, swimming in the pool, and the outdoor shower!! The Hosts were wonderful!

Great property for our family

Neighborhood was in a great location for us to be close to all the attractions in Venice, our extended family in sarasota, and a boat ramp. The home was very clean with all the kitchen utensils you would ever need, and the appliances were very nice. The pool and the outdoor area is set up perfect with great furniture and cooking area. We really could not have asked for a better place to stay , and we already booked another stay for next year.

Fantastic location.....close to EVERYTHING! My wife is 74 and doesn't go to the beach much so the pool was a HIT! The house has everything you need and the outdoor kitchen and covered area was perfect. Edie, the property manager was easy to contact and responded promptly. The details put into this place is outstanding! Beautiful pool and lounging area with an outdoor TV and shower! Very clean. Side porch was great for the dogs to go potty and relax when bugs got bad. We even played Scrabble that was on the porch table! My son and girlfriend stayed in the pool house, and we watched some basketball in there after dinner one night. Huge theatre setting in pool house! Fabulous! We never showered inside! Great tropical retreat close to town and beaches!

Family Vacation

This property was absolutely perfect! The online description is accurate and it was better than we could have imagined. The location is great and close to anything you will need, so convenient. The backyard is fantastic, everyone LOVED the pool and we spent most of our time back there. The outdoor shower is a great bonus and I was not expecting to use it as much as I did. So much easier to use that before and after the pool. My husband and kids have already said that we need to stay here for our next vacation! Oh, and the fact we could bring our dog was so appreciated. As my daughter would say, "we give this house 1000 out of 10!". Thank you for being so easy to work with Edie and Greg!!

Venice oasis

This absolutely beautiful property in Venice Florida is quite the gem. We vacationed with our two dogs and I don’t think we could have picked a more perfect place. Two fenced in areas, one for play, and the smaller area for them to “do their job” for easier clean up! The heated saltwater pool was our favorite feature of the home as we spent most of our time in the back patio equipped with a large tv and grills. They have u tube tv but if you would like alternatives bring your passwords for Netflix, Hulu, etc.. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds were very comfortable, and the living/dining area was very relaxing. The wall to wall windows at the front of the house brings in the light but it would have been nice if they had curtains or blinds so we could close them in the evening… we are two women and felt a bit uneasy with them open at night. That being said, we didn’t spend much time inside because we had a beautiful oasis outside! We would definitely stay here again as it was the perfect place for us and our dogs.

A Hollywood Bungalow with an awesome LA Backyard.

Feb 2024 we originally rented this Bungalow for the backyard. The pool was warm enough for visits from my Sarasota family. The large covered lanai with kitchen, long table, TV, and comfy firepit easily handled family dinners. The outside shower was my favorite feature while my 30-something kids enjoyed the Pool Houses's 72 inch TV Screen. The bungalow's landscaping creates beautiful backdrops for every photo. I enjoyed the Orchid Tree. Inside the Bungalow we were very happy with the size of the furniture. Our family is tall and we were comfortable on the chairs and sofas. I thought the King size bed was a perfect med-tiny soft mattresses. The Queen bed was a little soft for me. I wasn't on the murphy bed.Inside, I loved the warmth created by a little Bohemian, farmhouse, cozy stlye. Everywhere you look, an interesting "moment" evokes a feeling or memory of joy or reflection.This Bungalow is in our favorite Venice neighborhood. It's close to downtown with all the shops& restaurants and its close to the pier and Brohard Dog Park & Beach. The Bungalow has become our favorite place to stay in Venice.
