Coco Loco Azul has two condo apartments. One that our family and friends use and a second lovely guest apartment for up to 4 persons. Comfortable queen bedrooms with AC. Just a short walk to the beach, & to four restaurants and the local super market.
The space

For those who love to surf, we have a sweet break less than 10 minutes away. Bring a board, or rent one, or use one of the house boards. lessons can be arranged at short notice. Enjoy a beach ride on the horses or a ride on the pair of bicycles at the house, or even 4 wheeling in Tamarindo. Take an afternoon and sunset cruise on board the single hull tall ship sailing boat The Antares, with all meals and drinks included! All can be arranged.
We try to provide all the comforts of home in our guest house, so you feel most at home and feel totally relaxed. The pacific waters here are warm all year round and offer plenty of entertainment both in it and out. At certain times of the year you may happen to notice whales playing just offshore. The location is perfect. We are a short walk to Junquillal beach. It is an easy walk to the grocery store and a few restaurants, but enjoyable having a car to explore all the other fun restaurants and places around. The house is well equipped if you choose to cook. The pool is perfect after a walk from the beach. We mostly live in bathing suits. The apartment is secure and private.
The village of Junquillal (Hun-key-al) remains unspoiled, a haven for those looking to spend their precious leisure time on the road less traveled. The village is home to only about 200 residents. Local Costa Ricans (Ticos) as well as international ex-patriots call this area home. If you’re looking for a laid-back, quiet and authentic setting with easy access to all kinds of options, you’ll love it here. Playa Junquillal is also conveniently located 30 minutes from Tamarindo if you fancy an evening of nightlife and action, maybe a trip to the casino there. There are a few other beach towns dotted along the way that should be visited such as Lola’s in Playa Avellanas and surf breaks & yoga at The Peace Retreat in Playa Negra, just a short drive up the coast.
The Junquillal Super is a grocery store carrying local and fruits and vegetables and everything you need for snacks and full meal making and liquor store. 5 minutes walk from our house. In the same plaza you'll find the Paraiso Cafe for breakfast options or a morning latte. If you fall in love with Junquillal there is a real estate office there too!! Great restaurants are available in the area ranging from typical Costa Rican dishes to French cuisine or take-out pizza. We can also arrange personal cook for your private in house dining. 24 hour min notice needed.
Guest access
Guests have access to the whole guest apartment, anywhere on property grounds, pool, outside shower, and laundry.
Other things to note
We welcome well behaved pets with a pet fee of $5 per pet per night and will be added once you have made your reservation. Before booking please let me know what type/size of dogs you will be bringing. Always good to be prepared as we have dogs too. We request that you have a cover or blanket with you to protect our furnishings if you pet is likely to want to climb on sofa or bed.
