The location is perfect, peaceful and beautifully set against the backdrop of Arunachala Hill, giving a truly spiritual and relaxing atmosphere. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay. The surroundings are calm, green, and ideal for anyone looking to unwind or enjoy the ashram visits and Girivalam. A special mention to Venda and Uma, who were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Their warm hospitality made the experience even better. "This is a typically Indian hotel, so lower your expectations if your a westener. There was a muted welcome when we first arrived but when they got used to us the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was OK and had a terrific balcony with a beautiful view over rice paddies and farmland, we saw many types of birds, and a large herd of ducks were brought to rice paddies each day. The hotel is on the outskirts of town and was relatively quiet and it was an easy 15 minute walk into town. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and in Gingee. Gingee is hidden gem and deserves more than the one day most people give it. "
