About this property
Point Robinson Lighthouse - Keeper's Quarters B
Vashon Park District offers amazing stays in the two renovated Keepers' Quarters at Point Robinson Lighthouse. The two residences share the beach with the lighthouse and several outbuildings. Both are available for vacation rental throughout the year, offering you a wonderful way to enjoy the beach, Puget Sound, and Vashon-Maury Island.
Quarters B is a two-bedroom, one-bath, completely furnished unit with a full kitchen and sitting parlor. This house is restored to capture much of its historical 1919 condition. It can accommodate four to six people - with two bedrooms and one bath. The sunny kitchen in Quarters B evokes a time of homemade biscuits and slow Sunday breakfasts. The sitting room boasts period furnishings and contemporary comfort. This property is perched near the lighthouse on the shore of the East Passage in Puget Sound. It offers a wondrous porch looking out over the Salish Sea, and on a clear day, Mount Rainier (known as təqʷuʔməʔ or Mt. Tahoma to the Coast Salish people).
Quarters B is part of a duplex comprising half of the downstairs and the entire upper floor of the house. Our Caretaker lives in the other half of the duplex, and while the front porch facing the water is a shared space, the house has separate entrances for each residence.

This restored home is a treasure and the surrounding beach, lighthouse, view of the majestic mountain, which changes all day and evening long, the incoming rush of the tide, the bald eagles perching on tree limbs -- a feast for the senses. It's quiet and also so full of life!
The space was cozy and views were incredible! The caretaker was super friendly, and we mostly had the beach to ourselves in the evenings. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again!
Excellent VRBO. Beautiful location and great experience. I did not realize that there was only a bathtub wirhout a conventional shower, but that was the only surprise
Our family with young children loved staying at the quarters. The location on the beach can’t be beat, the views were spectacular, and the place was very neat and tidy. Would stay there again!
Spent our anniversary weekend in charming Quarters B. Walked the beach each day, sat on the large porch, cooked our own meals in well equipped kitchen.
A beautiful historic property with sweeping views. The home is cozy and comfortable, perfect for a couple or small family. We enjoyed walking the beach and trails and taking in the spectacular view from the porch. We saw eagles, osprey, heron, and many other birds and wildlife. Truly a fantastic getaway.
Comfy historical retreat on a magical spot with Mount Tahoma in the background. We had the best time! The most relaxing spot for a much needed respite.
Spent a wonderful long weekend so we could give a family member their first PNW experience… got to enjoy the water, wildlife, and ship traffic … and quiet!
I have stayed at Quarters B multiple times and it is always such a relaxing and restorative experience. It is very comfortably appointed and the view is the best around. The addition of the troll up the road makes the location even better.
My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend enjoying our stay in “Quarters B.” The house is nicely furnished and equipped. Walked on the beach, visited the troll, enjoyed the restaurants and shops on Vashon. The parks department is great to work with.
What a beautiful property! My partner and I really enjoyed the serene quiet atmosphere. Communication from the property management was top notch. The views are just unbeatable. We are already trying to plan a way to come back soon!
This is a beautifully restored historic home in a fantastic and beautiful setting. The home is very comfortable. If you have mobility issues it may be inconvenient that the single bathroom is upstairs and has a tub with handheld shower head.
This was an incredibly relaxing and memorable place to stay! The home is beautifully maintained in the original character. Views of Mount Rainer from our bedroom and the front porch were breathtaking. We saw river otters feeding, eagles nesting in the tree on the property, and an orca swimming by right in front of us! Admittedly, we had warm weather and bright blue sky for our visit, but it was just heavenly.
Great combination of old but comfort. Looked and gave feeling of age and history but comfortable and clean and new in terms of appliances and bed. Breeze off the water was steady and wonderful. Caretaker is a very nice person and helpful.
The property was beautiful. It was peaceful. We got to wake up to beautiful views and the sound of the water. We wish there was a stand-up shower as the sit down shower was awkward and not very satisfying.
The light keepers house on the beach, with stunning views of the water and Mt Ranier, is cozy, and characterful. Compared to the other vacation rentals I found in Vashon, this one checked off all the boxes and was cheaper. If you can get it, take it!
This is such a unique location: there was an abundance of nature - herons, seals, birds, lilacs, tulips (it is Spring in the PNW) and unepected views of Mt. Rainier amid the tug boats, ships, and planes that passed by within sight. Quarterhouse B was ideal for settling in and relaxing. It seems intentionally simple, extremely functional, and is delightful. Everything worked, the place was spotless, the kitchen very usable. We felt well welcomed by the caretaker and knew we could call on him with any questions. We would gladly return!
This was our second time to stay at Quarters B and there's something truly special about it. The house is charming and unique, the location is superb, and the views from the front porch and upstairs bedrooms are spectacular. We enjoyed gorgeous sunsets, playing in the water, strolling to the lighthouse, grilling food for dinner, kayaking to a nearby cove, visiting the troll near the upper parking lot, AND watching orcas pass by. Amazing! I felt an incredible sense of tranquility at Quarters B, and the onsite caretaker was very kind and helpful.
We arrived on December 27 to find the perfect little cottage complete with a charming Christmas tree. Everything we needed was here - plus tons of wildlife and the glorious beach. Oscar the Troll is magnificent but I did not realize he was going to be such a crowd draw - the upper parking lot is always crowded and muddy! But inside the quarters feels private.
The gate, which is locked after dark, is HEAVY and quite difficult to open and close by oneself, but it does ensure privacy at nighttime. Absolutely glorious little stay for me and teenage daughter, and we will return.
My wife and our friends enjoyed our three day stay in Quarters B. The location is over the top perfect for anytime of year. We enjoyed being here in the quiet of winter and the lovely coziness of this historic home.
We had everything we needed to cook meals, sleep well and enjoy each others company. We brought cooking items we needed and were glad as there were no cooking oils and spices other than salt and pepper. We appreciated the bathroom being upstairs near the bedrooms and found the beds very comfortable.
We lucked out with a blue sky morning and views of Mt. Tahoma, enjoyed walking the beach and hiking up to see Oscar the Bird King. Being less than 20 minutes to restaurants and other shopping was very convenient. We found many nearby trails to enjoy as well.
This home is well loved and we appreciated the old charm with more modern comforts.
Loved most things about this place! Very clean with great kitchen and nicely decorated with "period" furniture. I have 2 minor criticisms that I feel almost guilty mentioning, but since this is an honest review I want to mention them. The furniture in the living room looks like it should be there but is not very comfortable. We had stormy weather during our stay so we used this furniture for most of a day and it left a lot to be desired. Also, the tub/shower looked great but the hose for the shower portion of the plumbing was not long enough to allow you to hold it above your head (and no place to hook it as a shower head). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
