This secluded, custom, riverfront cabin sits on a full wooded acre with private access to the Washougal River. Inside, you'll find a well-equipped kitchenette with everything you might need to prepare anything from quick snacks to full-course dinners. Dine together at the adjacent table, and then lounge by the efficient woodstove and watch something on the TV in the cozy living area. Outside, there's a deck overlooking the old fir forest as well as an upper-level balcony off the primary bedroom with a hammock, perfect for afternoon naps. And for the ultimate relaxation, enjoy a soak in the private hot tub.

This home is located just 40 miles northeast of Portland and 12 miles from downtown Washougal. The surrounding forest is filled with native northwestern plants and old-growth trees, some more than 300 years old. Many kinds of birds, ducks, geese and other wildlife also call this excellent spot home. The Washougal River itself is one of only two completely unpolluted rivers in this region. A wide variety of outdoor activities are possible here, yet the setting is secluded and free from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Enjoy easy, year-round access to hiking, boating, fishing, and skiing.

    Not exactly what’s represented
Our stay was good, that being said. It’s listed as being secluded and private. It’s far from private and only secluded because of the location. The need to list that the hot tub is not private and it is not next to the house.. it’s across the muddy pine needle filed parking area and down a muddy trail. The hot tub is a great feature, but if your looking for seclusion and privacy.. this may not be the place for you. The house has a spa bathtub, that would be great if the neighbors construction guys didn’t walk by the clear glass window that is right at chest lever for a 5’9 person.. I will never understand why windows have see through blinds.. ridiculous when right next to the house and windows is the trail everyone seemed to use during our stay..on top of that, you only get about 1/4 full, about an inch above the intake and the jets before you run out of hot water.. got a big tub, you need a big water heater. Once I went to get in it.. the jets failed to work. Could have been operator error, but all you have to do generally ispush the button, you should be able to turn the button for different speeds is what it looked like, I couldn’t turn it. Last complaint why no coffee pot.. French press kinda sucks if you are in a hurry and want more then 2 ounces of coffee.. they could have at least had coffee for the Kurig .. but no, only tea! This is the USA- we drink coffee here. Lol. Threat view from the master bedroom.

    Simple Necessities lacking
No toilet paper, paper towels, no pans or pots to be able to cook a meal. No hand rail on stairs. I was holding my baby and slipped down the stairs and hurt my back so bad.

    Just what we needed
Great little spot for peace and quiet. Excellent view of the river and the hot tub and bath both worked well. The kitchen works but is a little more bare bones, thanks to a previous review I had brought all the spices and cookware I would need and was able to make some pretty tasty meals. Netflix worked and the place stayed warm throughout our stay. Definitely would come back to this little spot nestled in the woods.

    Great secluded property
We had a wonderful stay; the property is quite cozy and secluded. There is no cell service at the property, but the Wi-Fi, worked great. We brought a selection of holiday DVD's with us but was sure happy to find we could watch Netflix, as we never did find the advertised DVD player. Also, we tried to follow the checkout policy, but never could locate the dishwasher, but no big deal, we just did the dishes by hand. We did attempt to use the provided BBQ, but as you can see the deck through the grill grates, we elected not to use it. All in all, it was very quiet, loved listening to the river below, and very comfortable.

the views around the cabin and the river are beautiful is quite private the place there are some cabins around but it does not bother you, inside the cabin the internet did not work we spent two days without being able to hear from our family and the phones have no signal, for On the other hand, if I felt like the owners did not take care of many of the details, as everything is a little neglected, if they did it in the right way it would be an excellent place but for now I will only say that it is ok, just that and nothing more.

    Very misleading listing
Our family spent a week at this property, and while the house was pretty clean and the kitchen was well equipped, the description of the property is very misleading and the vacation didn't meet our expectations at all. 1) Internet connection, cell coverage, landline: it says that the internet connection is spotty. It's actually not true. In order to get some internet you have to reload the router, and then it appears for some 15 minutes and goes off again. There is no cell coverage at all and no landline in the house. So most of the time you can't connect with outside world by any means even for emergencies. 2) River access: there is a narrow path full of weeds and pretty steep stairs leading to the stony path to the river. You can't really swim there because there are lots of rocks of all sizes, and for fishing you have to get to the middle of the river somehow. So the most our kids could do there was just throwing small rocks into the water. 3) One acre territory: maybe it's indeed one acre in total there, but it's all covered with weeds, fern, ivy and all sorts of stuff, so you can't actually walk there or use it in any way. And after we saw a couple of snakes there, we didn't want to explore it any longer. Overall, we're very disappointed and won't be back. Again, if the description was fare, we would never pick this place for our family vacation.
