Extra Perks: * The Hillside Hideaway is located in the same town where Chip and Joanna Gaines film their TV shows in their renovated mill (tours available through www.Magnolia.com) * You're close enough to Waco (30 minutes away) to explore its attractions, but still come back to enjoy the small-town vibe and escape the hustle and bustle.
Nearby Excursions: * Explore other local small towns outside of Valley Mills, including Crawford, McGregor, Clifton, Meridian, and Glen Rose, home to Dinosaur Valley State Park. Other important information: The cabin feels very rural, but it is located very close to town. This is an added bonus for feeling tucked away, but being close to in-town conveniences. Since it is located close to neighbors, it is common to sometimes hear neighbors and other street noise as you would in a neighborhood. The cabin is also located very close to a railroad track. This means that when the train comes through, along with nostalgic thoughts of westward expansion and romantic notions of seeing a train with loved ones pull into the station, guests will hear the train horn for around 15 to 20 seconds as it intermittently sounds when coming through the nearby railway crossing. Final note, it is likely you will see wildlife, especially deer. Please admire from a distance. No hunting is allowed on the property.

Our stay was nothing short of perfect! Surrounded by nature, it was the ideal spot to unwind and recharge. Mornings were spent reading on the porch, enjoying the peaceful sounds of the outdoors. In the evenings, we grilled steaks, made s’mores by the fire, and relaxed in the hot tub under the stars. The cabin was spotless and well-maintained, making our stay even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a clean, cozy getaway, this is the place!
Everything is just as described and very clean. The hot tub was 1 of the most important features for me and was not disappointed at all. Very relaxing, enjoying the bird chirping, some snacks and a glass of the local wine. I would like to be a little farther from the other cabin for privacy, may be during spring and summer time the foliage will help with that. The communication with owner is freat, very attentive, friendly and respectful. Experienced some miss communication from Vrbo and she was ready to help every time. I would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Perfect getaway for our 5th anniversary! The only 2 things I’d like to comment on is the lack of water pressure in the shower and the mold on the shower curtain. Other than those few things, everything was great
The property was just as described. Very clean and well maintained. Everything works. The owner mentioned the proximity to the train / horn. I'm glad she did. It wasn't an issue at all for us. We loved being able to sit in the hot tub and watch the stars. I would go back in a heartbeat :)

No fire extinguisher on property. Grill needed cleaning and had a lot of grease in it causing it to flame up. Needs a small microwave. Hot water is extremely hot and runs out really fast in shower. Way too much chlorine in the hot tub. Could not enjoy it because it burned our eyes.
The Cabin was as described and as it was online, very clean and spacious. The hot tub was a plus for sure. The next Cabin is a good distance away so privacy wasnt an issue. The only issue is that the train tracks actually run pretty close by, it gets really really loud when the trains pass by, if that bothers you, this is probably not the best place for you. Other than that, good spot for solitude and some quiet time.
