"Three adults stayed here to explore North Cascades. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. The space is tight when the bed is pulled down from the wall but it worked for us as we were out exploring most of the day. The kitchen was stocked for use and the washer and dryer were nice to use after hiking."
Secluded Forest Cabin w/ Hot Tub & Private Waterfall
10/10 Excellent
"Very nice property and we really enjoyed the waterfall with the constant sound of running water. The hot tub was great, however, it could use a new cover. The laundry wasn't working, but we didn't need it for only a 2 night stay. Very nice extra amenities and great location to the natl park. We had a great time!"
"Let's start with the good:
The property is very close to North Cascades park. It was very quiet and far enough back from the road to not be disturbed by cars. The large meadow from the Theme Cabins was beautiful. Firepits with ample seating & the property supplied wood for evening fires. The scenery was magnificent with lush trees & great views of the mountains. Right across from the Skagit River which you can walk to for some nice river views. The staff were helpful but slightly overwhelmed.
Here is the other side of the coin:
The site states that the cabin is fully stocked but was very limited. We had to go ask for several items: dish soap, coffee, paper towels. The owners have made efforts to assuage the mice problem as evidenced by the traps all over the property. But, you are in nature and mice are an inevitable issue. Put your food in the fridge or plan on putting it up on top of the cupboards or mice proof containers. We had our bread & apples eaten though by mice in the night before we realized. We also had mice droppings in all the cookware so be prepared to clean thoroughly even if you think the dishes are clean. Also, buy food in one of the small towns (Darrington) before arriving as some of the restaurants will be closed & there is limited grocery available in town. What they do have is very expensive!!"
Rainbow House: North Cascades Skagit River Retreat
10/10 Excellent
"Cute house and perfect for our family. It was a great location as a home base to go in and out of the North Cascades National Park. Clean and had all the essentials for our stay. Would definitely stay here again!"
