"Room was clean. Decor a bit outdated. Nice lobby area. Didn’t use the spa or the restaurant so can’t speak on that. Pool room was clean and pool was nice. Was very cold but still usable "

"We mostly went for the water park but after being there shortly we was made aware someone was taking photos of little girls and immediately left- went to the arcade and most of them was out of service or not on. The water park was also smaller than we expected and very rusted out in areas. The rooms and bathrooms was out dated as well but I will say thank you to the cleaning lady who gave us extra towels after the one said they didn’t have extra. Overall we probably wouldnt come back."

"Staff was on top of the details and very friendly. We did not use the pool, but the breakfast was great/varied selections. The location could not have been better with access to the university, stores, and restaurants."

"You get what you pay for here. A place to sleep when you have been on the road all day. We were there for a friday and saturday nights so the place was packed. Our adjoining room had kids screaming and running around and the traffic sounds are really loud. your best bet is to get a room on the back side of the hotel rather than the side facing the highway. "

As the former residences of an industrious family in Dubuque during the early 20th century, both the Main house (Grey house) and the son's Colonial-style home (White house) are living examples of ingenious architecture, style, grace and utility blended into structure and comfort that you can appreciate and enjoy. The endurance of the craftsmanship built into every room shows with every step you take on pristine 120+ year old hardwood floors. The property is part of the Dubuque park system and helps preserve the legacy with active youth education programs. The staff provides excellent hospitality services with clean rooms and amenities. The coffee and Breakfast were wonderful. The view and trails overlooking the Mississippi River are peaceful and the grounds is home to woods and woodland bird species including Wild Turkey that stroll through the grass to feed. We appreciated a historical narration from caretaker "Willow" who along with her mom Dix manage the BnB portion of the estate. We highly recommend the Four Mounds! "
