Getting Around:
● This is a very rural location. You will need a car to travel to and from the house. We strongly recommend that you travel in an AWD/4WD vehicle as we are located in the mountains and roads tend to be sloped, snow covered, and can get very icy. Public roads tend to be plowed in a timely manner, but we cannot guarantee that conditions will be drivable.
Other Things to Note:
For specials, promotions, deals and additional availability please contact our team at Wander Home Poconos.
● The rental agreement will be sent to you once the reservation is accepted. Your booking is only confirmed once it is signed. Kindly complete it within 24 hours to secure your reservation. If not signed within the deadline, your booking may be cancelled with no refund.
DOG FEE:
● $50 per dog. All dogs must be vetted. We allow a maximum of 3 dogs per booking, and we have the right to decline dogs based on breed or age. The appropriate fees will be requested once final approval has been confirmed.
● Wander Home welcomes guests with fully verified profiles. Please upload your government-issued ID and payment method in your account settings, as well as send us a photo of your ID.
● Eligible refunds are subject to a 6% processing fee.
● A damage waiver fee ($40) is included for all reservations.
● Given the rural setting of the property, occasional sightings of ants, spiders, flying insects, and mice may occur despite our year-round pest control efforts. We strive to manage these encounters to the best of our ability, but cannot guarantee that the house will be completely pest free.
● NOTE: We provide enough essential items to cover stays of about 2-3 nights. If you need more supplies during your stay, you can visit Dollar General, Weis Markets, or other nearby stores.
● We do our best to ensure there is propane available for grills and/or fire pits, but cannot guarantee there will be propane for use throughout your stay. If all available tanks are empty, we ask that you refill a tank and provide a receipt for reimbursement. Note: be sure to refill/replace the existing tanks - do not purchase a brand new tank
● When drought, weather or other conditions present an unusual fire risk, a burn ban may be imposed by the local jurisdictions without prior notice.
● Any fish caught in the pond must be released back into the pond.
● The private pond is on-site, behind the house. Guests are not permitted to use the neighbors pond across the street.

Great house, very clean, the owners were very good with communication. We had 2 families 4 adults and 5 kids. The property was great right by Elk Mountain where we went skiing. Would definitely stay again.
We had a great stay at the Blue Elk Lodge. The place had plenty of space, was very clean, and the communication was great. It is in a very rural area, but super close to Elk Mountain which was the reason for our stay. I would definitely recommend to others!
The house was perfect for what we were looking for. Clean with a mountain cabin vibe. A quick eight minute drive to elk Mountain. Communication process was seamless with the property manager. We will stay here again!
We had a great stay at this property. The house was very clean when we arrived and beds were comfortable. The location was very close to skiing at Elk which was perfect for us. It’s in a rural spot so nice and quiet. I think this property would be just as fun in the summer as it is in the winter with the pond and the fire pit. We had a great time and were talking about coming back before we even left! Thanks for the great stay!
This home was perfect for our group of eight. The common space was very open and it was easy for us to have meals together. The (unfinished) basement was a great area for the kids to play. The proximity to Elk was perfect as it was a five minute drive to the mountain.
We just came back from President’s Weekend at the Blue Elk Lodge. It was modern, clean & comfortable for 2 families. It had everything we needed for a perfect getaway. There are beautiful views, walking areas and the nicest neighbors. It’s 10 minutes from Elk Mountain and after a long day of skiing we cozied up by the fireplace and didn’t want to leave even for dinner. You won’t be disappointed. The beds/pillows/furniture are all comfortable as well.
Wonderful weekend at a wonderful property! We wanted to escape for some peace and quiet, just the 4 of us, and Blue Elk Lodge delivered! Spacious kitchen/common area, very comfortable beds and linens, and everything we could need or ask for! Only there for a few days, but enjoyed walkabouts on the property, met a very nice neighbor and ventured into Clifford and Carbondale. Would definitely return!!!!! Easy communication through VRBO, easy check in and check out. Thank you, Wander Home!!!
Our host was great, very welcoming. House was very nice and lots of space. Kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed our stay very much and plan to return!
Great house and even better host. We were a family of 9 with 2 dogs and the house was the perfect size. We will definitely book this house again in the future.
Beautiful home, close to skiing, has everything you could want

Such a fun ski house with a beautiful, large kitchen/bar! Immaculate, comfortable beds and the gas range was such a good surprise! Gorgeous views of the countryside and sunset. Very warm fireplace. We loved it here and will be back!
Place was in great shape, plenty of room, very nice beds, linens etc. We did watch the Eagles lose there but the skiing at Elk and great accommodations made up for it! Also met the owner, Rob, who was extremely accommodating. We would definitely go back! One piece of information that might be helpful, Waze did not work well for mapping trip back and forth to Elk but google maps did (not sure why, it was very direct, 4.5 miles but Waze was giving a 9 mile convoluted route).
This was such a beautiful place to stay for our first time visiting a rural area. The peace & quiet was exactly what my family & I needed. The view was perfect and the house was exceptionally clean.
Absolutely stunning view! The attention to detail at the house was amazing. We had 11 guests between kids and adults and we all slept comfortably. The stars by the campfire was amazing. Lots to do in the surrounding areas not too far away also.
We had a wonderful time with our two dogs at Blue Elk Lodge. The property is beautiful, serene and the home is very clean. it was a wonderful week and we will be back!!
We enjoyed a few days in this quiet corner of Pennsylvania. The house itself was clean, nicely updated and decorated, and comfortable. The private pond is perfect for a few days of fishing (bass and bluegill), and there are many birds and other wildlife around the property and the surrounding area.
This place is all around AWESOME! From the house to the grounds, the view, the pond, all of it, awesome! The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. We had everything we needed to have a nice little getaway from the everyday hustle and bustle. We had a blast playing air-hockey downstairs, really enjoyed fishing the nice little pond, caught some nice largemouth (catch and release, please!) and enjoyed hanging out in the evening around the firepit. Oh, and my favorite part, just laying in the grass looking up at the vast sky of stars above us! It was my family of four, me my wife, our two teenage children and our two dogs. We really couldn't have asked for much more! It was exactly what we were looking for. The coolest part of the whole thing was how we even ended up there. We had booked another house that didn't pan out at all. It was a total disappointment! We were faced with either going home, or trying to find another place. We found this property and reached out to see if we could possible salvage our vacation. That was on a Monday morning. They responded promptly, and though the property wasn't technically available until Tuesday, they listened to our predicament, and went out of their way to get us in there Monday afternoon. I can't begin to tell you how accommodating they were, and how much it meant to us! They literally turned a crappy experience into one we'll remember forever! We are so grateful! And we will definitely be back!
