Beautiful apartment 5 km from Mercatale di Cortona and about 20 km from Umbertide, in an old country house in a quiet and panoramic position with simple furnishings typical of the country. You have access to a large garden with table and chairs, barbecue and a children's pool. The apartment is located in an area on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, and from here you can easily reach the main cities in the area, such as the beautiful city of Perugia (about 30 km). Umbria gives a feeling of peace and inner harmony. There are ancient hermitages and monasteries where saints such as the famous Francis of Assisi lived and worked. The frescoes of Cimabue and Giotto can be admired in the majestic Basilica of Assisi. Perugia, like Gubbio, Orvieto, Spoleto, Città di Castello, Spello, Todi and many other Umbrian towns, is a true jewel of art history and still perfectly preserved. Lovers of fishing and water sports should not miss a visit to Lake Trasimeno (about 15 km), a beautiful lake overlooking such pretty towns as Castiglione del Lago and Passignano. Take the opportunity to visit the picturesque little islands in the middle of the lake, where you can also enjoy the gastronomic specialties of Umbrian cuisine. Some suggestions for your day trips: from Umbertide you can easily reach the Adriatic coast, Florence and Rome in about 1 hour drive.
