I love the tiny township of Ulmarra and every time I've visited I'd say, I want to stay at the Ulmarra Hotel one day! Finally I did!
Perched on the bank of the Clarence River, the hotel is a charming piece of history. With most rooms leading onto a beautiful wide veranda overlooking the town or the river, its a perfect place to put your feet up and just chill out for a few days with a good book. Nothing to do except wander the village streets and check out the history and architecture, check out the few shops and galleries and the wonderful old antique/retro shop down the road.
The Hotels rooms are spacious, very clean, comfortable and inviting, I felt very at home.
The shared facilities are clean with plenty of hot water, staff are friendly and the bistro downstairs serves up great pub meals with indoor or outdoor seating in the beautuful garden overlooking the river. The steak special on Wed and Thurs evening was delicious!
My only negative feedback is that I read rooms were serviced daily but we were there 3 nights and didn't receive a service.
A soap dispenser at each sink in the shared bathrooms would be a BIG plus as I found it annoying that every time I went to the loo I had to try and remember to take my tiny cake of soap with me.
Loved my stay and will most definitely be back💜
