Step inside and discover 3 inviting bedrooms, 1.25 bathrooms, and two cozy living areas perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. The dining table seats six, ideal for family meals or game nights. This house offers 2 queen bedroom and 1 twin bedroom with 2 twin beds. The central full bathroom has a tub/shower combo. There is an additional shower room right inside the back door, convenient for washing off after day at the beach.

Anniversary get away

It was nice n quiet. It's anything to complain about was couldn't get tv in 1st bedroom to right to work n wish there was an outlet in bathroom but that's minor. We really enjoyed our get away.

Sandpiper stay

House was two blocks from the beach and four blocks from shops, and clean (except for the coffee pot). Manager was responsive and friendly, as always. A little trouble getting into the home as the screen door was latched from the inside. The area was quiet and safe.

This was our second stay with Mermaid Cottages this year and we could not be happier with the service and the cottages. The only disappointing thing was there was not an outlet outside that we could find and we had wanted to rent an electric car for a few days, but had no way to charge it. The sunsets on this end of the island definitely made up for it. Stay with the Mermaids, you won't be disappointed! We will be back.

Relaxing experience

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the cantaloupe cottage. The house was comfortable, clean, and cute. The only issue we had was with the spotty internet. It was not very reliable. Otherwise we loved it! The house is only a couple of blocks away from the back river beach (our favorite) and 1/2 mile from the beaches at the pier and pavilion. We watched the sunset from the shore at the fisherman’s walk pier each night - amazing! We brought our bicycles and were able to bicycle everywhere! That was the best part - no driving or fighting for parking spaces we had to pay for. Even the lighthouse is within bicycling distance. The house is in a quiet residence neighborhood. We plan to come back next year!

Spacious Vintage Home

As described this house is an updated 1950's beach house with a small, yet fully stocked kitchen, large laundry room, and extra shower to wash the sand off in the back of the building. The paint job, and interior decorations are themed appropriately for the area and gave a retro feel. I loved how much space there was throughout the house with all the seating areas (dining room, TV room, and living room with electric fireplace). The major perks were the fenced yard and accommodations for dogs regardless of size. Other than a slight step up to enter the house the majority of the rental is flat (with one step down to the TV room). The issue we had was the bathroom not being the best suited for older guests. The toilet was low and doorway was narrow, so that a walker had to be turned sideways to enter. Other than the bathroom we had plenty of bedroom spaces, the place was tidy, and close enough to the beach that younger guests could walk. This place is priced right and can accommodate a group with all age groups. We were very pleased with our Thanksgiving get away to Tybee.

Home Away From Home

This house was perfect for us. The fenced in yard was a huge plus as we were traveling with pets. They were able to burn off some energy in the yard. The house was exactly as the pictures showed and how the listing was described. The location was good too. Walking distance to the beaches and main downtown area. We also took advantage of the short drive to Savannah for some tours and food. This house was a great home away from home and we’d recommend it to anyone traveling with kids and pets. Thanks!

Close to the beach!

We really enjoyed our stay at Canteloupe Cottage. The property was very nice on a pleasant, quiet road. We were walking/biking distance from the Chatham Rd beach access point, and several other inlet access points. We had a lot of fun.

Shabby chic comfortable bungalow

House is comfortable if a bit shabby (could use some TLC) but in a great locale. Quiet, bedroom neighborhood along Tybee Creek with 3 beach access points including one small pier, within easy walking distance. It was great swimming in the calmer waters along the Tybee Creek side of the island and not getting pounded by the surf. Wonderful beach combing. Easy walk to big pier, the pavillion and The Breakfast Club, etc. At the house, beds were comfotrtable and everything worked. Tons to do in and around Tybee and Savannah without having to go far. We had a great 5 days there and brought along our doggo. Would rent again.

Beds and seating are comfortable, AC works great, and real art on every wall (not Hobby Lobby stock cheesy art). Haint Blue at every entrance. Only 2 blocks from Back River Beach, so quiet for relaxing, fishing, watching birds. Only half a mile to the strip on Tybrisa St and more ocean access! I loved being able to take a short little walk to my choice of beach. Overall, having this lovely beach home to stay in really made our trip memorable. The Mermaid Cottages staff were helpful but not intrusive. Just a couple of texts to make sure everything was good. (It was great) Check in/ Checkout was easy. Highly recommend, and we will definitely use Mermaid Cottages again!
