"If you are traveling through make sure you know the latest you can check in is 10 pm and the earliest you can check out is 7 am. I did not realize when I made reservations that our schedule would need to be constricted. We were on a 5 hour drive from Homer and really had to rush to make our check in at 9:50 pm. A couple construction areas with stopped traffic for over 10 minutes each added some excitement to our vacation.
Being from the central time zone made the 7 am checkout feel late because we were up by 5 am.
Plenty of area places to eat, don't feel like you need to eat on the premises, the food was, OK, but not great."
"We had a comfortable stay at Eagle River Lodge. The rooms are large and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large and modern. The location was great for us. We spent time hiking at Eagle River Nature Center one day, and drove into Anchorage the next day. There are shops and restaurants close.
A concern some might have is that there is no elevator. I knew that when we registered though, and expected to carry my suitcase up.

We also did not like that this hotel requires a security deposit. It was removed from our card after a few days, but still it is a rule that most other hotels we stayed at in Alaska did not have."
"Very nice small hotel. Great amenities and would be very comfortable for an extended stay. In room kitchenette and comfortable clean beds. Right on the highway so roadway a bit noisy (pretty quiet 11pm-6am though) Our room was right across from the check in room and could hear all conversations from that too. I think a set of ear plugs would have fixed the problem. Close to shopping and medical. Will stay again if needed."
"Carol has an amazing place by the lake which is cozy and homely. Very friendly, accommodating and goes above and beyond to help.
The breakfast was great. The other guests were amazing and friendly. Some of the best conversations :) Sadly we were there only for 1 night. We are definitely going to visit again, when in Alaska"
"Best Western Lake Lucille is a very lovely property. The staff were all very friendly with dining tips, activity ideas and snacks. The hot breakfast was great and sent us off for the day with treats for snacking. Our lake view room was standard in size but had a beautiful view of the lake and freshly manicured property. The Chop House was a little pricey but the appetizers and pub grub were tasty and filling. The restaurant was closed on our second day (Tuesday) which was a little disappointing. Overall loved it!"
