"A modern fresh and clean hotel. Very quiet, really comfy beds, large television and a great assortment of tea and coffee options in the room Including tea bags, coffee bags, fruit tea and hot chocolate and biscuits. My one improvement would be to have the same extensive range of drinks at breakfast instead of just normal tea and various coffee options "

"Clean room, helpful staff. The shower had great water pressure we were given plenty of towels one small one large for each person and the hairdryer was very powerful we brought a sound machine for our 3 year old and it helped drown out any sounds from the corridor but overall it was very quiet anyway. It was very dark once the lights were off and curtains closed which helped aid a good night's sleep. I wasn't told how to go about getting breakfast when we checked in but the lady the next morning was really helpful finding out for me and telling us where we needed to be. There was a small dent at the back of the bathroom where someone obviously was too zealous opening it and the bathroom door handle doesn't turn so if you are going to the toilet at night you are forced to give it a little shove shut making a bit of a noise but otherwise I would definitely recommend this as a good and affordable location to stay."

"The staff, especially Reception and a young blonde-haired lady who had only been there about 3 weeks were exceptional. Having the bar & the restaurant on the top floor is a bit odd, but it is comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very poor as was the quality of the wine. The gentleman acting as Maitre was brusque, untidy and unwelcoming. We booked our table for 7 and were prompt. But he wanted us to have courses in rapid succession. When we asked for a pause his response was that it was already cooked so we needed to have it then. We were invited to look at the pudding menu at 8.15 and asked if we could please have a little break, bearing in mind that dining didn’t start until 7 pm. He told us if we wanted dessert we would have to order as the kitchen closed at 8.30. We declined pudding. This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel - and everything about it is 4-star. However, I would not give the dining room one star. Sitting in reception in the afternoon waiting for my friend to arrive, who was also staying at the hotel, I heard a lot of people going out to dine and booking Uber. I now know why. There were very few people- perhaps 6-8 dining at the hotel on Thursday evening, which speaks for itself. I felt very unwelcome, rushed and uncomfortable. When meeting friends to dine - it’s lively to chat and linger over each course. We were given an hour and a half to eat all 3 courses. Most of which were inedible anyway. Such a pity. "Although the hotel is a little 'tired', the facilities with the pool and jacuzzi etc are a welcome treat, and I have no hesitation to come back again. The staff are very helpful and they accommodated my request for a ground floor room, which I appreciated. My superior room was very dated decor wise, and smaller than the last one I had at this hotel, but the bed was comfy and the corner whirlpool bath was a lovely surprise. Breakfast was OK, a reasonable choice, but they have stopped offering fruit, or bagels, or philadelphia pots .. which used to be my 'go to' choice. Lunch and evening meals offer good sized portions and are very nice (if a little expensive). Overall a great stay, whilst the pool is there I will be back."
