"This lovely little cabin was so much more than we expected. It’s a small footprint, but efficiently laid out with plenty of space for everyone to relax. It was clean and comfortable and the manager was easy to contact. The little touches like locally made soaps and fully stocked kitchen (even the stuff to make s’mores) was the gold standard for rentals. We were not there very long, but did get to walk to the creek and spend a little time by the small pond listening to the tree frogs. One thing...

"It was really neat to be able to stay in a historic cabin, the inside was very cute and well decorated and the guides (the laminated and the extra section in regards to the carnival) were very helpful. "

"The location was as good as it gets: you can see Main Street in Lake Placid. It’s a 2-5 minute walk. Also a 2-5 minute walk to the Mirror Lake trail (2.8 mile loop). The view from the room was gorgeous. The pool was 80 degrees and the hot tub 100. The pool had a 9.5ft depth on one end and was the biggest pool we’ve seen at a hotel. The hot tub was connected to the pool and also generous sized. The gym had two treadmills, two ellipticals, two bikes, weight machine and free weights and a very nice view from large windows. The stairs and first floor was under construction when we were there and I think that is why the rooms were only $200/night in early June for a room with two queen beds. Free coffee and tea from 7:00-11:00 and in room coffee pot and microwave."
"Our first impression of the hotel was relatively positive. We travel a lot in Europe and liked the style and vibe of the hotel which remind us a lot of the towns in the Alps. However, the property is really outdated and needs a gut renovation, although the location is good. Specific reasons we give a poor rating:
1. The shower is terrible. It is impossible to control the temperature. It was either burning hot or freezing cold.
2. We asked the front desk to borrow an umbrella because it was pouring. Given that the hotel is supposedly a 4-star hotel, which we typically stay at, the front desk told us "they do not lend out umbrellas and suggested that we buy one from the gift shop". Ok. However we turned around and another staff member offered another guest next to us an umbrella. We were dumbfounded and honestly very irritated.
We will not recommend this hotel."
"Check in and out, door locks super convenient and easy!! Pool, fire pit, games were very nice and used them. The staff was nice but couldn't provide EXPECTED supplies. There was no caffeinated coffee even though we reported it for a four day stay! There were no spoons or forks needed for several of the breakfast items. They didn't have these supplies to refill them. Many of us complained about the lack of coffee."
"parking was horrible, contractors were doing asphalt work during my stay, it was hard to find a spot, and when u did, you couldn't park there, it was like musical parking, spot to spot, breakfast was good, the room air-conditioning was loud when on, I have been in better Hampton inn and less the price"
