The start of a footpath. The sign is here, but not the path. There should be a path leading diagonally across this field to a stile in the corner > 1061557. It is possible - provided one does not mind getting very muddy shoes - to walk along the field's edge in order to reach the opposite corner, and from there over the stile and through a cattle pasture which is traversed by an unnamed stream, crossed by a farm bridge > 1061524. A narrow and not very well defined path leads through it, continuing where Granary Lane ends, at a gate into this pasture > 1061478. Granary Lane doubles as a public footpath, turning off Market Street in westerly direction > 1061413. It peters out into a narrow path further to the southwest > 1061469 - 1061485 which, according to the map, emerges on a farm track (seen at left) by The Street in St James > 1061613.

I stayed here some years ago and was very impressed, however it is very tired and dated now, they are doing some renovations in some areas. Definitely not worth the money at the moment.

New room was larger however the bathroom smelled like a sewer and it was also old and tired with rotting window frames. Bedding and curtains covered in stains.
