We have stayed at several Clarion Collection Hotels in Sweden and although the Trondheim hotel is good the breakfast and evening buffet is not as good as other hotels.

This hotel was exceptional in every meaningful way. The staff was unfailingly considerate and helpful, the accommodations were exceedingly comfortable, the breakfast buffet was fantastic, and an afternoon tea and light evening meal were also included in the room cost. In addition, the location was absolutely perfect for us, as all of the historic neighborhoods and sights of Trondheim were within a reasonable strolling distance. If public transportation was desired, numerous bus stops and the main central train station were very near as well. In short, if we are ever able to return to this city, we would not consider staying at any other hotel.

Trondheim is a lovely city and wel worth a visit. Hotel very central and perfect for exploring. Rooms about same size and standard as a uk Premier Inn except no kettles in the room.

Great location, friendly staff and meals included.
Great location in the middle of Trondheim's Sentrum. It was almost like an all-inclusive since breakfast, dinner and a sweet serving in the afternoon were included. The hotel is inside the Olavshallen shopping mall so you have, on top of that, plenty of extra food options! Local attractions were all within walking distance. Staff was super friendly. I only have 2 minor complaints: There's no real parking at the property and they seem to advertise otherwise. There's only paid parking nearby. They all seem to charge NOK 200 a day. There's one right below the hotel but most of it is reserved and the rest accounts for only about 20 spots... and is tiny. There's one across the street but that also has limited spots. We parked 2 or 3 blocks south on the same street by a gas station (that was convenient). Also, they request that you let them know the day prior if you'd like room cleaning. We did and they either forgot or just couldn't do it. First they said they were running late since they were busy with a larger party. Then a few hours later we asked again and said they were understaffed and wouldn't clean our room. They did bring up towels and toiletries which was all we needee anyway. Overall, good spacious rooms, great location and amazing extras with all those included meals.

A dump
For the price I paid for this room and being a Clarion, it’s a dump. All the power outlets and light switches must be over 20 years old and dirty. The baseboard trim including the hallway trim was beaten up and showing exposed wood. The walls had all sorts of marks and exposed plaster. If I had paid motel prices I’d expect this but this was expensive and a Clarion so it was a dump. Very disappointed. Never Clarion again. I say go to Radisson Blu instead.

Nice clean hotel, very comfortable bed and large room space. Excellent high quality light buffet provided as part of the room costs - far exceeded expectations - a lovely inviting touch for guests to make one feel at home. Very nice brand of toiletries in the bathroom.

Nice hotel, great service
Fantastic service, clean, comfortable and spacious rooms, great breakfast and evening buffet! The elevators and other details are in need of an upgrade, the elevator doors in particular are too aggressive if you have a wheelchair or are bit impaired and slow, which detracts a little from an otherwise great experience.

Great deal with tasty food
I was really surprised by this hotel - I expected a bland chain hotel but it was great. The staff were fantastic, the place very clean and the best bit of all was the food - - - Not only was there a great breakfast but the evening meal was a real bonus especially considering how expensive eating out in Norway is. No choice but plenty tasty food with wonderful salads too. And then to find that you could have coffee with pancakes and waffles in the afternoon too - fantastic

CONVENIENT AND COMFORTABLE HOTEL IN TRONDHEIM
Good location not far from train station, shopping street or Bryggen. Good size room. Musical themed décor, as the hotel is in the concert hall complex. Dinner was provided, with meat and salad options. Makeyour own Pancakes also provided for afternoon tea. Easy walk to the Bryggen and old town bridge. Recommend a walk through the old town to the Baklandet Skydsstation which is a delightful restaurant/ bar with historic significance. Lovely staff, who say “Super dooper ding dong”. Not too far from the fort or the cathedral. Recommend the cathedral tour for extra insights into Trondheim history,

A good but not great place to stay
An interesting concept with afternoon tea and dinner available and included in the price. But the trade off is so-so rooms. A double bed with a single duvet; blocked shower drain, poor lighting, no one in reception when I arrived. The hotel is inside the concert hall so windows in many rooms look inward to offices and public spaces which rather compromises privacy. Convenient location - particularly if attending a concert. Definitely appropriately starred at 3.5.

Good business stay
Overall a pretty good option to stay in central location in Trondheim. It got a bit hot one night for me. This is a usual problem in Norway hotels though, where they provide thick coverings to sleep and keep it fairly warm in rooms with no easy way to adjust the temperatures. When asked at the front desk next day, they informed that I should have contacted them and that there is way to adjust the temperature in a big white box, which I could not easily find. To top it off, the phone in the room wasnt working, so didnt help me at night. In all fairness, the hotel people would have tried to help me, if I was able to contact them in the night. I was told to request an outside room next time, so I could control the temperature by keeping a window open partially. Yes, this is also common in Norway, since the wall insulation is that good! Breakfast was ok, nothing great.

We loved our stay at the Clarion. We thought the evening meal was a great idea. When we travel we usually eat a big breakfast and then have a late lunch / early dinner. Have that option to get a snack or more at the hotel really worked great for us.

Great Place with Many Extras Included
We stayed for two night. The location was fabulous, easy to walk around the town, and there were many good places to eat. The staff were outstanding. This hotel was unique because they not only had breakfast included but, also, an afternoon snack and dinner. The hotel also had a washer and dryer that was free for guests to use if you didn't want to use the laundry service. The detergent was supplied too. Our room was large with a separate living space. The only downside to our stay was that we had expected housekeeping to make up our room. They ran later in the afternoon rather than in the morning, and they never made it to our room. It wasn't a huge deal but a letdown nonetheless to return to our room and the bed not be made. Otherwise, this was a fantastic place to stay. I would also note that GPS will take you to what looks like the front of the hotel on the main road, but you will need to go around to the backside of the building to reach the check-in.

Bed was comfortable enough and the included dinner was better than expected, but the furnishing of the rooms is very bare and gloomy. Also kept getting static shocks off of everything in the room because of the carpet.

A cozy spot to stay

3rd time in Trondheim
Stayed at another Clarion Collection hotel last year. This one close to being as good, but better city location. 'Free' evening meal was really good, soup and hot meat/chicken, and extensive cold buffet. Breakfast had all you could ask for, with 'cook your' own eggs and buffet selection.. Afternoons there is a snack 'event', serve yourself. , On day we were there pancakes, plus appropriate accompaniments. Previous day was waffles Really supportive staff. A very good choice for us.

We LOVED our stay here! As Americans we're not used to much as far as quality goes but this place hit everything out of the park. The hotel was a challenge to find due to construction but we figured it out eventually. Check in was a bit hard to find too, (it's the bar area, by the way!) but was easy and the receptionist was very helpful/friendly. Our room was stylish and quite large with a comfortable bed and great bathroom. The toiletries were of excellent quality as well.We were very happy with the free afternoon pancakes and free dinner. We couldn't believe they were included in the price as it was one of the cheapest hotels in Trondheim! We were able to easily walk around town to bars and stores. Breakfast in the morning had quality ingredients and a good selection. Overall, I couldn't imagine a better hotel in Trondheim!

Good hotel, breakfast was included in the price, we were a little confused regarding the restaurant in the evening though. It appeared that the we could also have food in the evening that was also included. You are allowed to help yourself and there was a different choice each evening, it was very pleasant. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. If you have a car we discovered that the car park under the hotel has limited parking space. We found a Q Park about 15 mins walk through the city that was 120NOK for 24hrs.
