About this property

The Trinidad Pearl - Oceanfront Home & Hot Tub

  • Summary:

Welcome to The Trinidad Pearl, a private Craftsman home on the Humboldt coast where the ocean is part of everything. Wake to 180-degree ocean views from nearly every room, wander the lovingly kept gardens, cook together in the open chef's kitchen, and soak in the hot tub as the surf breaks below. Read by the fireplace, play a casual game of pickleball, and gather for sunsets by the fire pit. A calm, beautiful place for families and couples to slow down on the Redwood Coast.

    The Space:

The Trinidad Pearl is a lovingly kept Craftsman home set on the oceanfront bluff above the rugged Humboldt shoreline in Trinidad, California. Sweeping 180-degree ocean views fill nearly every room, and the home's beautiful, mature gardens wrap the property in color and calm. It is a private, peaceful escape made for slowing down and soaking it all in.

Inside, the two-story home has a warm, welcoming living room with a wood-burning fireplace and windows that frame the sea, an open chef's kitchen at its heart, and comfortable common spaces for family time. Upstairs, the bedrooms and flexible loft nooks give kids and guests room to read, rest, and play.

Outside, the gardens, lawn, and ocean views invite long mornings with coffee and slow evenings by the fire. Soak in the hot tub, share a meal on the covered patio, and watch for whales, sea lions, and bald eagles along the bluff. The Pearl is a place to reconnect, quietly and comfortably, where the redwoods meet the sea.

    Key Features

    • 180-degree ocean views from nearly every room

    • Beautiful, lovingly maintained gardens

    • Open, chef-style kitchen with a pro-grade gas range

    • Hot tub with ocean views

    • Two decks plus a covered, heated patio

    • Fire pit with Adirondack chairs

    • Private pickleball court for casual play

    • Wood-burning fireplace and whole-house sound

    • Flexible loft nooks, great for kids and quiet remote work

    • 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms

    • Comfortable for families, up to 8 guests

    • A quiet, private setting near Sue-meg State Park and Trinidad village

    Sleeping Arrangements

The Pearl has four bedrooms. The primary bedroom features a king bed and a wood-burning fireplace. Three additional bedrooms upstairs, two with a king bed and one with a queen, share the upstairs full bathroom. Beds are dressed with comfortable, high-quality mattresses and linens, and three of the bedrooms include a desk for easy remote work, several with ocean views.

    Bathrooms

The Pearl has 2.5 bathrooms. The primary bedroom has its own full bathroom, a second full bathroom with a heated floor serves the upstairs bedrooms, and a convenient powder room sits on the main level near the front door. Fresh towels and standard bath amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, and soap, are provided.

    Living Areas

The living room is a comfortable, welcoming space with a wood-burning fireplace, a smart TV, and whole-house sound, and large windows that keep the ocean in view. It is an easy place for the family to gather for coffee, games, or a quiet evening in.

    Loft Spaces

Upstairs, flexible loft nooks add relaxed spots for kids to hang out, a movie area with a projector, and a small gym and yoga space, a favorite for a morning stretch while the kids play in the yard. Please note the loft spaces are reached by steep, ladder-style stairs, so they are best suited to children and sure-footed guests.

    Kitchen & Dining

The open, chef-style kitchen is the heart of the home, with generous counter space, a professional-grade gas range, and plenty of room to cook together. The adjacent dining area looks out to the ocean, so even everyday meals feel a little special.

    The Gardens

One of the most special parts of the Pearl is its gardens. Lovingly planted and maintained over many years, they bring color, texture, and calm to the property, with quiet corners to sit with a cup of coffee and take in the sea air.

    The Outdoors

The setting is made for slow coastal days. Two decks and a covered, heated patio give you comfortable places to relax outside in any weather, and the patio, with its cushioned furniture and heaters, tends to be everyone's favorite spot. Soak in the hot tub with the ocean in front of you, gather around the fire pit in the Adirondack chairs for sunset, and enjoy the lawn and gardens. Watch for sea lions on the offshore rocks and whales and bald eagles along the bluff. Enjoy a casual game on the private pickleball court, a converted concrete pad made for relaxed, friendly play; it is not a regulation-size court, so it is best enjoyed as a fun extra and play is at your own risk.

    A Quiet, Private Home

The Trinidad Pearl is ideal for families and couples looking for a peaceful coastal escape. To protect the home and the quiet of its setting, it is not a party or event house: no parties, events, or large gatherings, and only registered guests are permitted on the property. Guests renting neighboring cabins are not permitted to gather here. We love sharing the Pearl with guests who treasure it the way we do.

    Surrounding Areas

The Trinidad Pearl sits on California's rugged North Coast in Trinidad, where towering redwoods meet the Pacific. Nearby favorites include:

    • Sue-meg State Park (Patrick's Point) for coastal trails, tide pools, and Sitka spruce forest, within walking distance

    • Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and Fern Canyon, just to the north

    • Trinidad village shops, restaurants, and the historic harbor, minutes away

    • Wide sandy beaches including Trinidad State Beach, College Cove, and Moonstone Beach

    • World-class steelhead and salmon fishing on the nearby Trinity River

    • Arcata, Old Town Eureka, and historic Ferndale, all a short drive

    • Whale watching, bald eagles, and sea lions along the bluffs

    Locally Rooted, Elevated Hospitality

We are Redwood Coast Elevated Stays, a locally rooted team serving California's North Coast. We believe a stay should be more than just a place to land. It should feel personal, seamless, and connected to the beauty and spirit of this stretch of coast.

From booking to departure, we are here with thoughtful support, clear communication, and trusted local guidance to help you settle in, feel cared for, and make lasting memories on the Redwood Coast.

    Guest Access:

Self check-in is easy with a secure lockbox and gate code, sent before your arrival, so you can settle in on your own schedule. Because the Pearl is a special rural coastal home, our local team is also glad to meet you in person and orient you to the property, from the wood-burning fireplaces to the spring-fed water and septic system to the bear-proof bins, so everything runs smoothly.

Guests enjoy the entire home along with the gardens, decks, covered patio, hot tub, and grounds.

Private driveway parking is available for up to four vehicles behind the entry gate. A vehicle is recommended for exploring the area, and we are always just a message away if you need anything.

    The Neighborhood:

Trinidad is a small, historic fishing village on California's rugged North Coast, framed by redwood forest, sea-stack beaches, and tide pools. The Pearl sits just north of town on the quiet Patrick's Point stretch of coastline, a peaceful and refreshingly uncrowded setting that families and couples return to for the real Humboldt coast. You are minutes from the village and harbor, a short drive from Arcata and Eureka, and surrounded by some of the most dramatic coastline and old-growth redwoods in California.

    Getting Around:

A car is recommended for your stay. From Highway 101, take the Patrick's Point Drive exit; the Pearl is a short drive from Trinidad village (about 10 minutes), roughly 25 minutes from Arcata, and about 30 to 35 minutes from Old Town Eureka. The California Redwood Coast / Humboldt County Airport (ACV) in McKinleyville is about 20 minutes away. Coastal roads here are rural and can be foggy or wet, so please drive with care, especially after dark and in winter.

    Other Things to Note:

Self check-in is available via a secure lockbox, and our local team is glad to meet you in person if you prefer. Check-in is from 4:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM.

    This is a pet-free home.

Maximum occupancy is 8 guests, and only registered guests are permitted on the property. No parties, events, or large gatherings, and guests of neighboring cabins may not gather here.

No smoking anywhere on the property. Minimum age to book is 25.

The upstairs loft spaces are reached by steep, ladder-style stairs; please use care and supervise children.

The pickleball court is a casual, converted concrete pad and is not regulation size; play is at your own risk.

The two indoor fireplaces and the outdoor fire pit are wood-burning; guests supply their own firewood.

This is a private rural-coastal home on a spring-fed water system and septic, with bear-proof garbage bins. We will share a few simple tips so everything runs smoothly during your stay.

WiFi is fast and reliable, though as in any rural area weather can occasionally affect signal; a personal hotspot is a good backup for essential work.

For everyone's peace of mind, there is an exterior security camera at the driveway entrance. There are no cameras inside the home.

All guests complete a quick Good Neighbor Policy form before arrival.
