Safari Tentalow in Trinidad and Tobago

"It is a pity that the music played is too loud and not suitable, interfering with conversation. When I complained I was told that is how the owner likes it. First principle for hospitality business: please your customers, not yourself. Why not gentle pan music, or guitar, piano? You are in Trinidad, set the right mood!"

"A beautiful hotel, idyllicly situated on its own beach. Delicious food served by professional but friendly staff. All rooms with sea view. "

"The property is magnificent. Has its own beautiful beach. But clearly they are short on staff and on supplies - during breakfast I had to get off my chair to find someone to get me some coffee- since it was not self served. Our first night we ask for another blanket and they had none but send me a flat sheet Our beach towels were very damp because they did not have dry ones available. The worst part is that the running water in the room was medium brown in color. I could not use the water to make some tea or brush my teeth. I went to the front desk and ask for water- they gave me 2 little bottles and said I would have to pay if I want more. Maintenance came by and said it was not an easy fix. Same time a couple in a room about four rooms down from mines heard the conversation and stated that they were about to go to front desk to report the same issue. This hotel has always been the one that I stayed at on every visit to Tobago. Service has always been excellent. Clearly something has changed and I am hoping whatever shortcomings they’re experiencing is going to be short lived. I’m not writing off this hotel- I will be going back again. "

"The business facility was not appropriate since there were mold in the bathroom ceiling and leak in the bathroom sink. There was a cracked in the wall above the TV, there were not hot water for 3 days, the second day there was not chef so no breakfast, the room did not have phone, they claimed it was on repairs for years. The staff was very nice but the above mentioned was unacceptable."

"I stayed in a wheelchair accessible room. All was excellent except the shower. There was no way to not flood the whole bathroom area as shower area was small and had no curtains. I suppose if you're not showering it would be ok. Wonder if the normal bathrooms have the same absence of a splash enclosure."
