It’s not that the lights were turned off; it’s that there were no light fixtures at all. The fixtures had been removed. Ordinarily, I would just brush this off, but the Motel 6 spokesperson, Tom Bodett, famously says, “We'll leave the light on for you.” On this visit, that did not happen.
