About this property
Three bedroom cabin on Lake Leelanau. Faces west with amazing sunsets.
Lure Me In is a cute rustic 3-bedroom cabin on South Lake Leelanau that welcomes up to seven guests. Originally the Au She Gun Resort, this area is fantastic for providing plenty of family fun. The cabin features a full kitchen with a gas stove and toaster oven (no regular oven). The master bedroom includes a king bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with doubles on the top and bottom. Sheets and towels are included.
The outdoor area is spacious and leads to the lake. This location faces west, so be prepared for amazing sunsets. The area around the cabins is a fun and safe area for little ones to play. Well-mannered dogs are considered. Pet parents are required to clean up after furry friends. A dock and mooring are provided. There is also a mooring buoy. The outdoor amenities include a picnic area, with a picnic table and beach chairs for lakeside relaxation. A charcoal grill and firepit complete the perks.

Rustic
Cottage was a bit more rustic than pictures indicated. It was very musty when we got there. Had to air it out and burn candles to help the smell. Water is very mineral smelling. Recommend bringing your own drinking water. Beds were comfy. Loved the life view, bonfires at night and close proximity to vineyards,

Perfect location to enjoy the Traverse City area.
The view from this cabin was beautiful. I wish we could have stayed longer. The only negative was that the cabin had a musty smell. But other than that is was great. Perfect size for what we needed. Easy to communicate with the property manager. We had to cut our trip short due to a personal emergency, so we did not get to experience everything that was offered.
Overall clean cottage, beds were not comfortable, chairs and furniture were ok. Recommend a TV manual, (3) remotes, but had difficulty get live TV. Property was spacious and water front was nice. West and south winds make this portion of the lake very rough for boat mooring. Area in front of cottage for mooring is 4 foot deep for 30 yards out. Great for swimming and kids, larger boats over 20 ft may find it difficult.
Location on Leelanau good. Felt like a fishing cottage from the 50’s. Cat/dog food found on carpet in one bedroom when arrived. No A/C. No oven. Mold inside shower. I actually stayed in this cottage in the 60’s. Other than inside bathroom and hot water, it seemed nothing had changed. Also, only 4 forks and knives. No sharp knives. Needs housekeeping improvements, decor updates and grounds improvement.

The owner had allowed the cabin to be double booked. We arrived at the cabin after a 4 1/2 hour drive to find that there were already people staying in the cabin. Visit Up North Vacation Rentals saved the day! 5 stars for Visit Up North!

It is an old cabin on the lake, with some upgrades. Pleasant enough. Absolutely bring your own water to drink and cook with, as the taste of what comes out of the tap/well is very off-putting and smelly. Rental agents were cooperative and had excellent communication.

Reviewer Comments:
We arrived on Friday and the heat would not turn on. We got it working but that lasted only a few hours before shutting off again. I sent a text to the property management company at 6:15am Saturday morning, they sent someone out to look at it around 11:00am and after an hour he explained that he had to leave without fixing it because the owner didn't want to pay to have it fixed. There was no communication from the property manager as to a resolution. We had a busy day planned and left at 1:00pm. We returned home at 6:30pm with STILL NO HEAT and STILL NO COMMUNICATION from the property manager since 6:21am that morning!!!! 12 HOURS LATER! After texting again, they sent someone out at 8:30pm with space heaters. Couple all of this with the fact that the water smelled HORRIBLE - like rotten eggs and was so potent it filled the entire house with that smell, and it came out of every faucet and the shower. Clearly, we couldn’t drink the water. And there were fruit flies EVERYWHERE. Covering the windowsills, the refrigerator handles, in the bathroom... I took photos for proof but can’t attach here. We can only assume it was from the rancid smell coming out of the pipes. This house needs to be taken off the rental system until it is fit to stay in! STAY AWAY from this place! And shame on the property management company for not communicating with us and not taking care of the matter immediately. I will not return to this rental and will think twice before renting from this property management company again. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.
What a perfect place to kick-off our summer! We spent our days exploring the peninsula, TC area and even made it down to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire and the Cherry Bowl! The lake was warm and we spent hours each day swimming in the clear, sandy bottomed water. The cottage was fully stocked and a great home base for all of our adventures. The beds were comfortable and the cottage was plenty big enough for the three of us. We would definitely return!
This lake is so calm and relaxing - we loved every minute of it! We had a storm roll though one day, so the water was very choppy that day, but even that was fun to watch. The little beach was perfect for our 3 year old. And we loved how shallow the water was (it's 2-3 feet deep well past the end of the dock).
The cabin itself is definitely an old fishing village type cabin. The kitchen is stocked but basic (no dishwasher or oven, though there is a toaster over). The middle shelf in the fridge fell every time we put anything on it so we just removed it while we were there. The living room furniture is fairly comfortable...though the rocker/recliner by the back door was rigged with what appeared to be the handle of a paint roller. The wall decorations throughout the house need to be updated severely. This place is no longer a 1930's fishing village - please update the décor accordingly. The overall cleanliness of the cabin was just OK - it's clear the cleaning person does a basic surface clean. I moved the toaster and the counter underneath was full of crumbs, there were cobwebs in nearly every corner, and the drawer where the trash can is was dirty (and there was no bag, but whatever there...we brought some). Also, there is no AC. They do provide VERY dirty box fans in each room though.
Lastly, be prepared to have your backyard time invaded by the neighbor, Gary. I was relaxing on the beach with a book when he broke out his chainsaw and started cutting up a tree in his yard...and then he came over to our yard and started cutting up limbs there. He informed me that he "takes care of the properties but doesn't clean or anything." Cool story, but please go away. The next day, while we were gone, he took the zero-gravity chairs from our property and gave them to the next door neighbors (also a Vrbo property managed by Visit Up North)! She came over and asked me if it was OK that they had the chairs...she said Gary brought them over because "he didn't think we were using them." To me, he felt entitled, intrusive and much like the village nib-nose. We will be coming back to this lake, but definitely not this cabin.
We enjoyed our stay at this spacious lakefront cabin. It was more than enough room for our family inside the cabin as well as plenty of outdoor seating. Nice deck with beautiful view of the lake, gas grill and also an area to have a campfire. Kitchen was well equiped making it easy to prepare meals if you don't want to go out.
We were glad that we brought a Brita to filter the water for drinking and making coffee. Hand soap for bathroom and large (kitchen) garbage bags (beyond 1) were not provided.
This cabin was very cozy, in a beautiful, quiet setting in the woods and had a very well-eqipped kitchen. It was a great place to spend time as a family.
