Our second stay at this lovely property and just as impressed. Such a great location for Capital Reef and a nifty location for both sunrise and sunset. Highly recommended!
This was a great location for a quiet getway. The kitchen appliences are modern and quiet as were the laundry appliences. Very nicely appointed and comfortable
The setting of this house is amazing- close to everything you need - very private, quiet and the views take your breath away - fabulous stargazing at night, beautiful sunrises - would highly recommend!
Family trip for us with plenty of room for teenagers. Beautiful property in location sitting high up with view of creek. Big glass windows and porches to see the amazing sunsets and sunrises. Soft sheets and high quality shampoos/body wash. Very clean.
Our stay at GrandView was solid. The cabin/house had everything we needed. The hosts provided everything needed in the kitchen, the beds/bedding were good quality and the porch views were beyond.
The ease of access to Capitol Reef was great - and the lil town of Torrey had a great little general store and ice cream shop that was top notch.
Sunrise to sunset this place has the views and the space to enjoy. Used this as a base of operations for exploring Capitol Reef NP and surrounding areas (don't miss the caves at Goblin Valley State Park!) The house was super comfortable with a great kitchen. Located very near to town yet super private. Highly recommended and we are certainly hoping to return for more exploration!
Of our three weeks in southern Utah, our final 2 days at this property were the best. The home is spacious, comfortable and has a well appointed kitchen. There are places to sit inside and out and enjoy the amazing views. The hosts were easy to communicate with and we were extremely pleased with our experience.
I can’t thank the hosts enough for quick helpful communication. Above all, this place is a gem if you want a comfortable but rustic cabin getaway. Wood burning stove, board games, painting set, fully stocked kitchen. Great books on the shelf. Quick access to lower elevation (warmer) hikes when it was cool on the plateau. Stars and moon rise were outstanding. Thank you for sharing your retreat!
We had a wonderful time! House was great with lots of room to sleep. Stocked well and can’t be the night sky. Would definitely stay here again. Awesome communication and garage parking is extremely nice.
The location, the views, the property (old school feel home) and the access to Capitol Reef was outstanding. We had 6 adults and one teen and we all had plenty of room to eat, relax, celebrate Easter with a killer egg hunt on the property, and incredible hiking. Coming back again in the future.
This home is designed for relaxation- not incredibly fancy but with lots of attributes that allow one to relax, sink into the surroundings and rejuvenate. Very well appointed for gathering, cooking and enjoying each other's company. Highly recommend and, if life allows, will come back myself.
Perfect for 2 couples, didn’t need the 3rd bdrm. Great location for visiting Capital Reef. Cozy comfortable great room, decks everywhere to view the stars and sunset. Wood burning stove was awesome. The grill was super clean and worked great! The hosts were super responsive, we’d love to come back!
A very unique and comfortable home, with an unusually well stocked kitchen for cooking in. The sunrises were gorgeous (October), lots of birds and a few small lizards to keep you company when you roam the extensive property.
We also enjoyed the upstairs library for evening reading, many interesting books to choose from. Very good location for area sightseeing and hiking in and near Capitol Reef NP. One slight caution, if you have a low ground clearance car, go very slowly up and down the gravel driveway.
My family and I stayed in this "cabin" in early June 2024. My kids (10 and 13), and my wife and I, loved every minute of it.
After the hubbub of people in both Moab and Zion it was amazing to be able to sit back and enjoy the sound of the wind whistling through the pines while enjoying a beautiful view all around you. The cabin was well stocked to the point you felt like you were staying at a friend's place. My kids are already asking when we will go back.
This house had the most awesome 360 degree view of the surroundings that I have ever seen. There were a few things like no AC or dishwasher that we noticed less because the view was so spectacular. There was a large fan that kept the front part of the house well-ventilated, and a passing storm during one night cooled us all tremendously. We enjoyed the house very much.
We loved our stay in Grandview over Capitol Reef! The house is beautiful and architecturally interesting, with gorgeous new hardwood floors. It sits in a small neighborhood just outside "downtown" Torrey, on a bluff overlooking a creek on one side, and the red cliffs of Capitol Reef on the other. It is a short drive to many hikes in the park (hike Cohob Canyon!), as well as good food and drinks in town. Best of all is the porch, where you can sit and watch sunrise over the Reef or have a post-hike beer while Rufous hummingbirds battle over the rights to the nectar feeder. Highly recommend!
We, family of four from the Netherlands, had a fantastic time. The house is beautifully located. The views of the mountains of Capital Reef are breathtaking. The house is big, very well kept and a nice kitchen with a full pantry if needed. In the garden (or on the deck) one can explore, spot birds, hummingbirds, lizards and rabbits.. and stars!
Within 5 minutes drive one can visit Torrey with a few lovely shops, a grocerie store and places to dine. In 10 miles is visitor center of Capitol Reef. Lots of exploring, hiking to do or a visit to Fruita for a lovely pie.
We rented this home 5 years ago as well and hopefully be able to rent it again in the future. So.. We can highly recommend this house and area to stay!
Beautiful home. Lots of room and unbelievable views. Very close to Capitol Reef!!! Very glad we found this gem of a residence. Would highly recommend to anyone.
We really enjoyed the property, a great getaway and good place to base to see both Capitol Reef and Grand Staircase Escalante. The night sky was amazing.
