"Beautiful location. Property is gorgeous. The only downfall is there's no insulation in the roof and it's a metal roof. So as a sun heats the metal it pops and makes lots of noise as well as when it cools down at night it contracts and pops and makes lots of noise so it's hard to sleep if you don't have some kind of a background noise like ocean waves or a fan. But it's still definitely worth the stay as it's gorgeous and you can hear howler monkeys."

Hampton by Hilton San Jose Airport

10/10 Excellent

"The staff are friendly and helpful. Having a free airport shuttle every 15 minutes is positive."

Hilton Garden Inn San Jose Airport City Mall

10/10 Excellent

"Hilton Garden Inn San Jose Airport Costa Rica (Alajuela) Rating: 5/5 Stars ★★★★★ Exceptional Stay & Unbeatable Location! I had a fantastic stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Alajuela! You couldn't ask for a better location—it is literally minutes from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), making arrival and departure completely stress-free. The hotel itself is modern, spotlessly clean, and remarkably quiet despite its proximity to the airport. The room was spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. After a long flight, relaxing by the outdoor pool surrounded by palm trees was the perfect way to kick off my time in Costa Rica. A special shoutout to the staff—everyone from the front desk team to the shuttle driver was warm, welcoming, and eager to help with local recommendations. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight, offering a great selection of fresh tropical fruits, custom omelets, and traditional gallo pinto. Whether you need a convenient stopover before heading out to explore Costa Rica or a comfortable base near SJO, this hotel is top-notch. I will definitely be staying here again!"

Hyatt Place Cariari Convention Center

8/10 Good

"The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I believe the rooms were new or recently renovated. My only concerns is the water pressure was on the rather low side and the elevators were problematic. The staff were fantastic at every level. The food in the restaurant was average. Overall I would recommend this stay simply due to the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms."

Hotel Los Sueños de Bajos del Toro

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed here during a family vacation and were blown away by this beautiful property that’s located in Bajos del Toro, a truly spectacular location in central Costa Rica. William, the owner happened to be there during our visit and both he and Viktor, his business partner, were welcoming and helpful - truly lovely people. The beds were comfortable, the property was clean and well-equipped, and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed drinking our coffee on the back porch overlooking the waterfall. Our kids also loved the loft. William also told us about Melvin and Ana, who come through the town Mondays and Tuesdays selling produce in a bus. They also were amazing people and we really enjoyed our conversation with them as we shopped for fruit and vegetables. If you’re ever in the area, you must stay here. We definitely will be back!"
