"This is a fantastic hotel located right on the Riverwalk. It's a beautiful old building with lots of history close to everything. Happy Hour and Breakfast were great with lots of choices. Staff were very helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone."
"We love Staying at the Menger Hotel and we love the pool. My grandson and I did a boys weekend and he loves to swim. I can say that the pool was very dirty to the point that we could hardly see the line at the 5' mark. Don't get me wrong, we did use it but I was not happy at all with the condition of the pool. Yes this was Friday prior to the rain."
"We were very happy with our stay at Hotel Gibbs. The staff was very friendly. We were able to get an early check in with no additional charge. Room was clean no cockroaches like another reviewer complained about. We were also traveling with children and had 3 rooms. Our kids weren’t quiet and the hotel still accommodated us well. I think some people just like to complain. Probably part of the “children should be seen and not heard” generation.
This is an older hotel but it was a very pleasant stay. Quiet and clean. Location was right across from the Alamo and just a short walk to the river walk. There was cheap parking right down the street from the hotel so valet was not required to park. Half our party did use Valet and it was a quick pleasant experience. They are located in the lobby and get you taken care of quickly.
Breakfast was great compared to other hotels I have stayed at. Biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh cut fruit cups. So many offerings to please all. We were traveling with someone who is gluten intolerant and they found plenty to eat. We are planning on staying again in the near future. This will be our go to hotel. We tell everyone about it. A hidden gem for sure."
"Parking isn’t free and be aware of the public parking ! There was a break in and multiple car hit and run in the parking lot next to the hotel. The bike cops are no help. Do the valet parking it’s safer."
